Xbox 360 faceplate fetches US$ 200 on eBay

Are you ready to drop some major bucks for an Xbox 360 faceplate? Say, US$ 200? Someone up on eBay apparently is, after bidding for an "extremely rare" Need for Speed ProStreet faceplate.

Said item was one of the 72 limited edition faceplates given out by Xbox Live some two years ago. The bidder from Queens, N.Y. described it as "extremely rare" collectible, with an original listing of US$ 30. Upon the goading of his colleagues at work, however, he reserved the price up to no less than US$ 60.

 

By this weekend, however, the bid has been raised to US$ 200 by a high-feedback bidder. Even more surprising is that another guy laid out another bid and topped the previous one by a dollar.

 

Full bidding drama at its finest -- all for a faceplate. Now that's dedication.

$200 on a piece of plastic that cost no more than 35¢? Umm I seriously personally honestly dont think the 360 or the XBOX has anything of rarity or value like games, faceplates etc...unlike ninty or sony

While Ebay auctions can be fun, this hardly qualifies as it. Nothing special about it at all. Since when was 200 a lot on teh internets of Epay? There are morons everywhere, and everybody who likes Need for speed qualifies for that description.

wonder what the pkmn xd:GoD pre order ngc console skin is worth? i see its $100 with the game. but that seems to be what all factory sealed 1st party ngc/gba games are worth
