Xbox 360-exclusive Ninja Gaiden 2 confirmed with screenshots, teaser video |
Ó
While details about the sequel to the PS3 hit title Ninja Gaiden Sigma has been elusive these past couple of months, this latest bit of news should end all rumors and misinformation - the official Xbox website has stated that Ninja Gaiden 2 will be released exclusively on the Xbox 360. And they have some screenshots and a trailer to boot!
The development studio behind the sequel is still Team Ninja and the legendary video game developer Tomonobu Itagaki is still very much part of the project. The following new features can be expected from the sequel:
- Exhilarating ninja action: Assuming the role of a ninja warrior, experience the new "finishing blows" system that combines gore with fast action and a well-honed combat system. In addition to a variety of brutal new primary weapons and enhanced versions of previous favorites, Ninja Gaiden 2 features both land and water-based action with advanced on-water battles providing a beautiful counterpoint to the land-based action.
- Easy to play, hard to master: Ninja Gaiden 2's new auto-healing system featuring semi-permanent damage restored at save points is the natural evolution of the franchise's distinctive gameplay, and introduces a new twist to managing health. Featuring a newly implemented auto-healing functionality and save point system, as well as an extensive story mode and multiple difficulty levels available from the start of the game, the gameplay is accessible to more casual players and challenging to even the most demanding gamers.
- Massive content and engrossing story: The themes of revenge and friendship in Ninja Gaiden 2 give rise to a series of dramatic events to create a truly compelling story. From Tokyo to New York and to the Netherworld, the story leads you through a 30-hour story mode as you skillfully maneuver Ryu Hayabusa through a demonized world fraught with peril and danger. In addition to the single-player campaign, upload Karma scores to Xbox Live leaderboards and participate in an all-new Master Ninja Tournament.
- Realistic graphics in next-generation gaming: Built from the ground-up from Team Ninja's in-house gaming engine for Xbox 360, Ninja Gaiden 2 represents the best in amazing visuals, responsive control, and thrilling combat with an extensive assortment of ninja weaponry.

So Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma will come out on the Playstation 4 then?
Oh yeah! Considering I loved NG on the xbox, and considering it's one of the more challenging games I've ever played through, I'll certainly be looking forward to the sequel.
That actually made me laugh out loud. But in all seriousness it will be grand to finally play a new installment to the serious. I wasnt sure if they'd ever make a sequel or just keep rebuffing the graphics and amount of bots on screen for the orginal : )
When I bought my Xbox, I only had two games in mind: Ninja Gaiden and Halo. It is time to buy a 360.
I knew a sequel was comming....and if anyone who paid attention to Itagaki's interviews and such in the past, they would know that NG 2 was comming forsure, and to the 360...
It's nice to finally get to see what the game is looking like (as I was dissappointed with doa and doax2 graphically) Seems they learned some lessons and are making a beautiful game...
BTW love the lack of "OMG 1ST!!!" Good job with that update QJ....
sorry to burst your bubble...but i highly doubt there will be a NG2Sigma on the ps4...
seeing as its being published by Microsoft studios...while NG1 was published by tecmo.
i still think it will come to ps3, same for katermari lol
The Xblowx711 may have a huge install base in the US, but PS3 has a bigger hold on the Japanese market. Having that NGS did well on the PS3, I don't see why they wouldn't bring it to the PS3 either.
You missed the joke man...
If you cant be mature enough to call it by its actual name (Xbox360), then just dont comment. Apparently the disabling of the anon posters didnt get rid of ALL the problems this site had.
Seconly, Microsoft Studios is publishing the second installment of the next gen Ninja Gaiden series, so dont hold your breath waiting for it to hit ps3 (or ps4 for that matter).
PS3 owners were lucky to get the remake. Now that this is published by Microsoft you have no chance.
finally after ...how many years has it been since the first... i can't tell anymore im so thankful to have finally see this ... and knowing it's only teaser trailer makes me wonder how much better the game is going to get from here on out
i can now die peacefully
looks incredible. I still have the original NES game and the xbox NG. Love/hate relationship with both those. Can't wait to develop the same love/hate thing with this one.
... agreed on the whole "not holding your breath" for a M$oft studio game to be released for Sony...
Please quit spamming because it's rather annoying. I'll say it again, I'm free to call it whatever I choose. You have the right to call the PS a "failstation" as you'd like to refer to yourself as "AoxomamoxoA". I find it offensive every time I read your posts, but I don't whine. I'm mature about it and post an honest opinion, "mature" or not. There are more "mature" things in the world you should be worried about such as poverty, so please quit it already. If you simply can't comprehend that not everyone has the same opinions as you, you might need to open your eyes to see and realize that you've showed your bias against PS3 ever since you were a registered user.
M$ is publishing the game and has had a great track record for keeping franchises they've published. And yes money talks. Once the PS3 becomes a contender, I don't see why Tecmo wouldn't release a port with uber goodies. I can see the Universal/Naught Dog conflict with Crash Bandicoot happening all over again...with M$/Tecmo and this game.
Masterchief dies at the end of Halo 3. He sacrifices himself. In order to shut down The Arc, he needs to use his suit. There%u2019s a huge electrical discharge, which kills him. Don%u2019t believe me if you want, but it%u2019s true.
