Now that the groundwork has be laid for the integration of social networking apps into the Xbox 360 Dashboard, Microsoft has given out a date for when gamers can try out the console's new online features.

Today's Microsoft Open House event in New York City yielded a "middle-towards-end of October" release for the update's public beta. The beta will include most of the features that Microsoft sketched out during their E3 conference earlier this year.

MTV Multiplayer mentions that beta invites will be sent out, although Microsoft has yet to provide specific details.

By the time they implement all these new features, all the kids will have moved from Twitter on to something else.

Oh yay -_- more useless crap. I'm not a fan of Facebook or Twitter. Though I will say this... you could do this looooooong ago using the PS3's web browser.

well, don't know if you heard, but none of those new features will be supported in-game (atleast, not at first)

and you don't even have a browser on the 360 (well, neither do i)

can't you just go enjoy your system, instead of telling others how crappy theirs is?
