The Xbox 360 Pro got into fourth place as top seller yesterday in the video game section and as of today it's claimed top spot. The folks down at Joystiq believe that the new stock with HDMI ports would most likely be the reason why Amazon wants to offload their stocks.
This is most likely a huge part of the reason, and, to add to that, may be the impending release of Halo 3, whose pre-orders have taken second place in Amazon's video game section bumping the Wii down to 3rd place. Not bad for a game whose release is more than a month from now. The Elite has dropped two places to 11th place today, still at US$ 449.99.
A lower price drop from Amazon for the Elite isn't likely, but the Xbox 360 Pro price drop isn't likely to last long either. Get it while it's hot.

Yup! And the PS3 is actually like $715 after taxes. Then you have to buy the HDMI cables seperate if you have a 1080p TV like me. And another $20 for a blutooth headset (communication is a must online, MS knows that). The WiFi isnt too good for online gaming, so you still have to run a ethernet cable so you wont lag like balls. The Premium (NOT Pro) 360 comes with everything you need, despite what a ps3 fanboy would throw up like HDDVD add on or whatever. Now that it is close to Wii price more people are gonna be playing 360. The preorders for Halo 3 are number 1 at amazon.com. Thats not counting EB Games or any other place, just amazon. Halo 3 is going to push 360 onto the throne. Whats PS3 got? *wait till fall of 2k8, youll see!!11!* Nah, i think ill get the 360 and play games now instead. Everyone go look at the article about Bioshock. The lowest rating is a 9.4 (the average is 9.8!). Xbox 360 has great games now. What kinda idiot waits two years for a good game to come out, spends more on the console itself, and is really just a pawn in sonys quest to push a new bull***** format.
