Xbox 360 802.11n adapter confirmed |
Ó
News of the new adapter first came out via the Italian site MondoXbox, which hosted an ad for the Gears of War 2 Game of the Year Edition, with a suspicious-looking inset photo of a new adapter.
While they were surreptitiously quiet about the release date and pricing of the said adapter, what they did reveal was that it will allow gamers to "seamlessly connect with their home network with the wireless 'N' technology." For them, the new Xbox 360 802.11n adapter is going to be yet another option for the consumers.
Having cleared that Rumor tag out of the way, Microsoft advises all to stay tuned as they are set to reveal more details "soon."

wireless should have been included to begin with. and i have no doubt that this will come out at a $100 price point. its ridiculous considering my first generation zune has wireless.
For the launch models, no it shouldn't have been included. It didn't need anything else to jack up it's price. Wireless in 2005 was a lot more than wireless now. But anything since the Elite up should have had it included. What I do like is it's an option, not required. If you don't use wireless, you don't have to pay for the wireless. At least this way we have a Wireless N option only if we want it, and aren't stuck to b/g. If PS3 wants Wireless N, they have to buy an adapter as well.
PS3 already has wifi built in, so if they do get wireless n, it will basically be built in future models.
Read as "If current PS3 users want to have wireless N instead of their built in b/g, they will need to get an adapter.
Seeing that this is from MS, it will most certainly cost 100 bucks, if not even more.
MS just keeps nickel and diming their customer base with RIP-OFFs like this. Throw in the grossly overpriced HDD and you should feel like a sucker buying this crap!
It's a Microsoft product, your lucky they included the processor for free, seriously.
M$ money machine wont stop Wirsless module should be integrated with xbox360 , does antena are too nasty . anyway
