XBLA: Possible roster of games to be delisted |
Listed in: Xbox 360 Tags: Microsoft, xbox 360 titles
Ó
A few days ago, Microsoft broke the news that they are making some considerable changes to their Xbox Live service. Among other planned changes, two that got a lot of attention is the planned size limit increase for XBLA games, and the plan to de-list some of the title's on the service's roster. The company further explained that they were planning to de-list titles based on three criteria: Their metacritic rating (anything below 65 %), their age on XBLA (at least six months old), and their conversion rate.
While MS hasn't finalized anything just yet, we've run into one which listed the XBLA titles that fit criteria 1 and 2. The list is available for reading below, though we remind the readers that the games aren't it aren't confirmed to be axed - it's just possible they might be.
As a reminder, you can still play the game normally in single-player or multiplayer mode even after it's been de-listed. We advise the readers to check back again in case MS decides to release an official statement regarding the games getting the boot.

Does iTunes delist music that nobody buys? Does Amazon delist out-of-print books?

i really just think they should do a better job of organizing this stuff... like the wii, have categories for classic games and XBLA original games. they can ever further break it down by system like the wii does.

Atleast make it 100 points for all of them instead 600 or 400 or 800 whatever. Their is some games I never try yet and now i have to fill up my whole 20GB for this or buy 120? This is bull*****
I still got time to exchange to the PS3 there MICROSOFT.
(I hope they do read this.)

Secondly, this list only based off one criteria, Meta Critic rating. Texas Hold 'em, Double Dragon, Frogger, Marathon and Pac-Man are some of the best selling XBLA games and have no chance of being delisted.
It just makes this list look stupid.
I think the Meta Critic criteria is just there to save titles that were well received but sold really terribily. The main criteria is sales, and may of those titles on that list would of sold enough units to escape the axe.
