XBL wins Guinness World Record's Most Popular Online Console Gaming Service |
Ó
Everything's unfolding for Microsoft at LA. Apart from their successful E3 2009 Press Conference, Microsoft had another party in LA as the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition awarded the Xbox Live with the official record for the Most Popular Online Console Gaming Service.Just how popular is Xbox Live that it merited this recognition from Guinness? Oh, you know, just 20 million active subscribers, 67% of which represent the total install base as of May 2009. The certificate was presented to Major Nelson, XBL Director of Programming, General Manager Mark Whitten.
Said record will be included in the 2010 Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition that will launch early next year. In the book will be a comprehensive guide to gaming, as well as the latest gaming records, gaming history, and interviews with key figures in the industry.

it was the ONLY one for quite a while. im signed up for it...and i don't even own a 360.(for when im over friends houses)
How much you wanna bet MS payed Guinness to do that? My bet is ooonnnn... $100k
MS would rather pay for games and DLC than being on a piece of paper
Quite the "world record".
This just in *touches ear with index finger*, Nintendo has been given the Guiness World Record for the Least Popular Online Gaming Service.
might as well windows wins the world record for having the most games lol
A world record in a pool of 3? Thats kinda silly. If a man named Bill makes a comic book company out of his garage he should get a world record for "Greatest comic book company started by a man named bill in Florida out of his garage". It'd be just as legit as this.
Wouldnt put it past them
