See the part in the image above that says "only for N64?" Well, you can scratch that now. Over at X06, Microsoft and Rare have announced that Banjo Kazooie will indeed be making its way into the Xbox360.

Yes, the well-loved and popular adventure game that once made N64 users happpeeee will be bringing laughs to Xbox360 users as well. The 1998 N64 game featured characters Banjo, Kazooie, Tooty, Gruntilda, Mumbo Jumbo, Bottles the mole, etc. and we're guessing (no, wait, we're hoping) that these characters will also appear and be playable on the game when it comes to the 360.

Microsoft and Rare's announcement at the X06 promised that Banjo Kazooie will come to the 360 with "new next-gen visuals and presentation as well as their sharp wit and hilarious sense of humor." Other than that, neither of the companies have divulged any information about the 360 version, so nope, no release date yet. A 2007 release is not entirely out of the question though, so here's to hoping that the game comes out sooner than we expect. *crosses fingers*

» Cool but . . .

are we getting a new Banjo-Kazooie or another remake. I don't really want the same game, but with "new next-gen visuals". Is Rare losing their touch? Maybe buying Rare wasn't Microsoft's best idea.

Alright! About time too. This was initially meant to be on Xbox but never came. Let's hope it makes it out this time for X360, as Banjo-Kazooie was one of the most fun games out for N64

» Rare's words about the game

"Amongst many other announcements at X06 was one particularly close to our hearts, that being confirmation of a certain bear and bird on their way back to a console near you. Provided that console is an Xbox 360, which we'll assume it is for the sake of convenience.

At the moment we're happy to confirm that Banjo, Kazooie, Gruntilda and a host of other familiar faces will return, but as for any further details, we're keeping tight-lipped so don't bother asking about a title, release date, story details or anything like that. Seriously, don't. All will be revealed in due course..."

Well I can just hope this "due course" isn't too loooooong...

And frankly, I also hope Rare does a good third sequel. I'm a little worried about it, 'cause they didn't do anything spectacular in the recent years... But surely I'm really happy!!

And I hope this isn't a remake of B-K! Heads will roll if it is! But considering Rare's text above, it seems the game will in fact be a sequel.

» what's likely

My guess is that Rare will start updating the game intensely after Viva PiƱata is released. After all, we all know that the Banjo team is working on VP. After it's done, they will all focus on Banjo-Kazooie 3. So we should wait for huge updates after November 9th. For us, who waited 6 long years to hear the announcement of the game, won't take long until November, will it?

» AHHHHH!!!!!!!!

MAN i loved this game. i was thinking about buying the Wii, and only the Wii, but I'm DEFINATELY buying a 360 when this game comes out, JUST for this game. Ive been programming a PSP version of the N64 version using LUA, but ive run into some graphical issues. Should have it released by November. I definately do not want a remake. If Rareware makes a new story, I would kiss their feet.
