Woe is you: New Xbox Experience update says hello with RRoD reports |
Ó

Oy vey... Looks like the New Xbox Experience dashboard update is experiencing some not-so-new Xbox woes. November 19: launch day for the NXE update. Not 24 hours after it went live, complaints are already piling up.
Various forums online have threads and threads of people reporting anything from connection freezes, slow downs, lock ups, broken TV connections, and so many other different numerical errors that, if all of them were strung together, could potentially measure all the way from Earth to the moon (and back).
No, but seriously though.
There are even reports of brickage - yes, the famed red ring of death is back. Some say it's limited to modded consoles only (no surprise there) but other untainted units seem to be affected by the same problem too.
We've yet to hear any official response from Major Nelson or any of the Microsoft staff. Some say the slow downs are caused by the simple fact of surging traffic accessing XBL, but the other problems are still unaccounted for.
If you are experiencing any problems with the NXE update, you might want to contact customer service (good luuuuuck!) or check out the forums (see Via link below) to ask around if anyone's getting the same problem as you.
Thanks to Djhg2000 for the tip!

i mean, who has that much spare time he can post within minutes of every news?
anyway, i talked to 6 friends today, and 2 of them were having issues with the display!
they said that the text on the "my xbox" option went all numerical in green, like the matrix (one said that xD) and the other one who also had that problem, were also experiencing E47 issues.. (failure code)
i myself doesnt seem to have any problems, but since it is the 1st time my friends say that, i believe them!
anyway (agian) bonbriana: ***** off and shut up... it's getting very annoying now, it's like a douchebag sitting next to you and saying, "whatever", after EVERY sentence!
like "did you know that ther NXE is out" whatever, "it's awesome :)" whatever, "you should try it" whatever!!
shut up please you loser (1st time i say that)

anyone with a box that hasn't been banned, has atleast 3 days before launch consoles are out of warranty...
if you have been banned you are SOL, m$ refuses to offer an out of warranty repair.

awesome M$ update

Anyway, for me it seems that some people just had bad luck that the RRoD came when they updated their system.

besides no amount of engineering can overcome idiotic users...
i will hand it to sony, the sheer size and lack of a flat top on the ps3 prevents retards from cramming it into a small shelf and/or stacking stuff on it...
you know the same kind of people that think it's ok to move any system while it's reading a disc and destroy it...

we've been told time and time again that the 360 red ring issue has been fixed,
they simply don't red ring anymore..
you know cause the 360 suddenly get a lot cheaper too, so that must mean even higher quality parts go in them now!! right!?
i'm sure there is nothing to this,
well im gonna go play my less spectacular ps3 this morning,
cause you know ..... it still works.

BTW, judge me if you like, I speak/write a few different languages and much better than anyone a Microsoft. LEARN ENGLISH, I did.

but the worst part is they WONT get the RROD but some other BS hardware failure that MS only give ONE YEAR warranty on will is complete Bull***t because the same factors that cause the RROD cause the h/w failure.
its just a different symptom....
here's hoping my new falcon last longer than 15 months

When has a gaming company EVER had to shell out multiple billions of dollars to offset their warranty repair costs?
Reply
You'll just get a general h/w failure that MS only gives ONE YEAR warranty on.
I hate to sound like a broken record, and I love me some 360, but even the v2 mobo revisions fail.
They don't fail as quick tho, just long enough to be out of warranty.
it really sux.
just get a falcon and say your hail mary's every day (not confirmed to work)

Wii update 3.4 is a joke! Actually, all of them were.
My first gen XBOX 360 still works great. Then again, I didn't move it with a spinning disc inside, use it on carpet, cram it into the entertainment center without ventilation, etc.
I don't think I'm lucky, I just have common sense!

If not, just toss that peice of ***** and said the hell with it. LOL

Install only the game(s) you addicted to right now until you finish it.
Keep it flat.
Dont force the tray to close.
use 360 controller for power system, eject/close disc try.
don't remove face plate bunch of times. it will wear and tear the hangers that keeps it on.
keep all vets open about 3 inchs (use your common sense)
Don't take your hard drive in and out all the time. again wear and tear problem.
Don't let 360 stay on all day like *****ing wal-mart does jesus. wonder how many 360's your store went thou? Waste of energy and global warming will suck balls if it does happen.
so yeah anyways use your senses. if you 360 gets hot on the front then you probbly might wanna move it or you just might have to buy a falcon becasue those babys are cold as ice, except for the back and if you don't run game on disc all the damn time. Motor disc will burn out earlier than the 360 itself.

I failed English class (p-u-$-s-y on my mind more then school) so go ahead rant me.

Dude! You pinned it! Global warming is due to people leaving consoles on 24 hours!
... Just kidding, but you can't rule it out as a "contributing factor". Producing electricity to run all those 24 hour consoles produces heat and the consoles themselves produce heat.
As logical as that sounds, I actually think "man made" climate change is complete BS. That doesn't mean people shouldn't conserve.
Seriously, a study reported at The Consumerist says it costs $103 to $143 per year to run your Xbox 360 24/7/365 and $134 to $160 per year to run the PS3. The Wii wins out at $10/year.
http://consumerist.com/5092971/are-you-spending-145-a-year-just-to-leave-your-ps3-on-all-the-time
Still, why do people leave consoles on all the time? It's wasteful and shortens the life of the electronic and mechanical parts. Frankly I'm surprised there aren't more RRoD problems if so many people leave them all the time. If you aren't actually playing a game (or running Folding@Home for you PS3 people), turn it off.
My fiancee used to leave her PC on all the time, I told her to stop because it was wasteful and shorten the life of the hard drive and fans. Since then our electric bill is half of what it used to be.
