A Halo Wars press release from Microsoft officially/accidentally mentioned the Red Xbox 360 Elite that's rumored to come with Resident Evil 5.
The press release was only supposed to talk about a promo deal in New Zealand, where anyone buying an Xbox 360 during a certain time period will receive a copy of Halo Wars.
Simple. Except someone made an oopsie when he included this little gem in there: "This Halo Wars offer does not apply to the Red Xbox 360 Elite console which is exclusive to EB games."
A brilliant marketing ploy, or your average stupid mistake? Either way, looks like the Red Xbox 360 Elite is as good as confirmed. Microsoft was officially contacted for comment, but all they said was "we have nothing to announce at this time."
Now please. No more RRoD jokes. Unless you have a really funny one.

Ok I'll start! Why did the xbox 360 turn red?
Because it blushed when the hdmi cord came out.
I feel like the red controllers were a giveaway.
and honestly there is no need to wait to release the info it's just a red xbox, not unlike the Halo themed elite that they released before.

I think they would just reverse the colors for this one so it would match the red but then everyone would be complaining so I doubt it. But if they do do that then atleast they fixed the RRoD and now its the GRoD
It comes pre RRODed in the box? sweet. saves you time getting it home, plugging it in, sending it back, waiting six months to only do the process again.

This is a completely nothing thing on MS' part.
It's red so what, this is right up there with the pink PSP. No one is going to want a garish red xbox sitting in their lounge room, black was the best choice of all to match in with all the other AV gear.
MS should be focussing on getting the XB720 out I want an upgrade, I'm bored with this gen.
I agree with Brant on the red controller part..... but personally I think M$ needs to start removing those freakin ads from the dashboard, I mean seriously they got their logo on EVERYTHING we know by now we dont truly own the damn thing..... and I hate the new dashboard (before you flame im only stating an opinion!) now dont get me wrong but please M$ before you start shelling out more things to buy, at least let us OWN what we already have! Most of you guys know what I mean by "own". I payed 450 for this thing at least boot up to the "My Xbox" blade.
The xbox feels like a vending machine you leased from the soda company. I'm not complaining about M$ giving me fresh daily content but why is me getting to my game coming second to me seeing thier (mostly jank but informative) content?
I'm pretty sure you don't own it. What you bought was a "license" So you technically paid them so they can license it for you to use. It's some legal crap I'm not really sure of but it allows them to put legal limitation on your console. Like you can't hack it and what not. Also allows them to ban your console since it is still their console and you just bought a license.
Just tell the Xbxo to autoboot your game disc. From there press the guide button and use the all text version of the blades. It works well for me. I miss the original dash before they started w/ all teh graphical updates. I don't know why they have to "Microsoftize" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v+JL89GmwWj-M) everything. Sometimes less is more!
