even though its an alpha build i can already tell that killzone has NOTHING on this game. This game will sell 360s like hot cakes, not only 360s but Live accounts as well. Actually aplha builds usually look similar to the final game in terms of graphics. It looks to me like they're just currently using halo2 map textures as placeholders for newer high res map textures.

ps3>360, I think you're right about one thing. This isn't the end of the PS3 just because of Halo 3. But it's da*n close. Sony hasn't come out with truly good games lately, maybe excluding Motor Storm. X360 has Halo, a MULTIPLAYER Call of Duty, where PS3 does not, and has better online support. This generation, Sony has given customers only disappointment, excluding a few points. Sony's down but not out. The counting's just begun.

Fact 3: PS3 is another great product for your money; the Blu-ray player alone costs US $1,300. Fact 4: The recent news says that Gears of War on the X360 dominated the gaming industry. GoW took so many awards (D.I.C.E. awards) and easily killed all other competitors like Resistance: FoM which is the best PS3 game exists. GoW also totally destroyed the best Wii game called Zelda. GoW is currently the best game released and exists and it’s only available on X360. If you are PS3 fanboys (PS3 supporters), you have nothing to say. Fact 5: PS2 console was released in 2000; and today is 2007. Let’s take an example of PS2 console. That console’s life span is about 8 - 9 years. I read this in a report which said that the first good PS2 game came out in 2001; I forgot the name of this game; however, it took 12 months for the developers to make one good PS2 game. Fact 6: X360 fanboys can’t bash PS3 at least yet; you should give it at least one year of time before making big predictions against the PS3. The PS3s have a game called Resistance: FoM; and this game is almost as good as the best game on the X360 named GoW (of course, GoW is still better). This means that PS3’s future looks very bright when you consider Resistance is a launch title. Fact 7: Nintendo and Microsoft are doing so much better in this console war than they have done in the last battle. For instance, MS released Xbox in 2002; that specific console’s life span is only three and a half years (only 3.5 years). Most of your "facts" were relatively accurate but ultimately ignorance on the hardware subject showed through. For thew next few post I will break down some of the reasons the 360 hardware is better. Keep in mind that games are what matter the most so you should get whichever system suits your tastes best.

The CPU

The CPU's - Simplified PS3 has better floating point performance which means it's processor has more "horsepower" but it's "horsepower" is without a saddle since most of the processors don't do general purpose processing as efficient as the 360's which is what is mostly used in games, in the end it makes them very similar in performance.

GPU's

Then theres the graphics card. The PS3 has a slightly higher clock speed (550mhz vs 500mhz) but the 360's has fewer bottle necks in RAM, nearly free 4xFSAA and that combined with the Unified Shader Architecture makes it perform better over all.

BR vs DVD

The average game takes more than 2 years to make, costs about $7 million to create, and uses about 4GB of disk space. Blue Ray - yes it holds more space but most devs will never use any of it. It would be too expensive and take too much time so they simply won't use it and most of the few ones that will are not using it for anything other than uncompressed video and such which is unneeded. Also the BR loads slower so unless you absolutely need a cheap BR player then PS3 doesn't really have an advantage in this department.

But let's go through some of these "facts" 1. You just admitted you don't play games, I'm gonna take anything you say about GAME consoles with a pinch of salt. No offense. That could mean you aren't a fanboy and are less biased than they (everyone is biased in some way), but if you don't play games why should anyone care what you have to say about them? 2. There is no GeForce 7k card over $300 (f you know where to buy, NewEgg has cards with the 7950GT chip, the most powerful 7k chip, for $290), do you mean the GeForce 8k series? I'm not too informed of the technical specs of both the R500 in the 360 and the 8800 series, but I believe the R500 is (maybe) slightly better than one 8800, with two 8800s being superior. The R500 is much more powerful than any 7k card. 3. This is a good point, but the main standalone Blu-Ray players (Samsung's BDP1000 and Sony's BDP-S1) both cost $1000, not $1300. 4. True, though for me Gears of War wasn't as good as it's made out to be. I really don't like the multiplayer. But that's my opinion. 5. That can be debated. What do you mean by "good game"? Those original PS2 games could have been "good" to some. 6. This "fact" is nothing but opinion, why is it even in here? 7. I completely agree, both companies have a far superior strategy this time around. However, the Xbox was released in its most successful territory (North America) in 2001. Now for those opinions 1. I agree (to an extent), but that analogy was kinda dumb lol. A lot of the info in it can be debated as well. For instance, people who's job it is to test these things don't have a definitive answer to the whole which is smarter argument. And I've never seen a dog outrun a cat. 2. You've already said you don't even play games, so this doesn't hold much water. I agree that the God of War series is good, but better than nearly all of the games on the 360? For me, no. And I've played a lot of them. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I meant no offense what-so-ever. Just a few of the things you said were pretty ignorant, so I had to speak my mind.

Memory

Lastly, the memory. - PS3 has 256MB of high speed RAM for main and 256MB of DDR3 for video. The 360 has 512MB which can be split up anyway the devs like. making it very efficient. The PS3 uses 90MB of it's main RAM for the OS WHILE your playing a game. The 360 uses 24-32MB of it's shared 512MB memory. That leaves PS3 with 256MB for video(can be shared with CPU at performance cost) and 166MB for the main. And that leaves the 360 with 480MB to share (without performance hit) between the main and video. The 360 has less bottlenecks and more usable RAM making it a better design. The 360 also has 10MB of high speed ED RAM for nearly free 4x FSAA. The 360 wins in this department by a huge margin which means in most cross-platform games you should see more detailed textures and better FSAA in 360 versions. Keep in mind that the version(360 or PS3) that is developed first in mind will end up haveing better performance almost every time no matter the difference in the power of these machines. This id due to the fact that the architectures are so vastly different. It is theoretically possible to port a game over and give it better performance but it is difficult and most likely won't happen often. The 360 is also reportedly easier to develop for which should count for something. Overall the 360 is the better piece of hardware but the PS3 will undoutably have some killer games in it's life span, it is cheap for all the extras you get(Blue Ray), and it is well built. So decide for yourself which is better for you based on games and your needs, not power.

My friend's step brother works for bungie and judging by the stuff he's been telling us, the game is gonna kick ass! He says the graphics can't get any better, the story is freaking awesome, and so many new features. You even get to see Master Chief unmasked. He told us he has blond hair and blue eyes but I don't believe him because you can tell when he's lying. But he does say that Master Chief looks like a bad ass, so at least I believe that. Oh, and you remember the big circle shield from the that 1m video? Well, its gonna be in the game. They're still trying to get it right in the game and balance everything out, but I can't wait to see the final product. What he doesn't like though is what the team tries to do sometimes. He said what they're doing is straying off from what Halo is about, and it seems wrong. What ever happens I'm sure the game will be huge and fun, if only he'll give me early access to Halo 3 beta, but you know the legal issues.

That PS2 supported no bump mapping, along with tons of other shaders only available on DX9+....and pretty much 96% of all XBOX games have bump mapping, let alone 360....I admit, lots of 360 games are just abit better then reg XBOX, but nothing on PS2 could even come close to XBOX graphics, based soley on PS2's lack of shaders....

i live in bonnie scotland and every single sony fanboy i know (including me) have either bought an xbox or a wii, there is nobody left over here, the ps3 will still sell in europe but its as good as over for sony. with regards to the screenshots, i was very annoyed that they looked basicaly the same as halo 1 but of course they are alpha build. personaly i think halo 3 will help a great amount in winning the console war for microsoft, i think sony has made some massive mistakes and they are now paying for them. however only time will tell oh and btw, the wii will probs do better than the ps3 and the 360 because of the fact it is more like a second console so both ps3 owners and 360 owners will buy them

lol halo sucks that game looks like halo 1 with xbox 1 grafix i do agree about the problem that the ps3 has over the ram but the cpu is far better . the 360 might have 3 cores but the game can only use one core and one thread out of the 2 threads that each core has. so haveing 3 cores is pointless on a console but haveing a single core and 8 spe's is a gd thing. 1 spu is used for game os and the other 7 can be used for shaders and sound ect ect so 360 games can only use 1/3 of the 360's cpu if that lol and the fact that gow got an award for best online game thats bull crap. rfom is way better online than gow. well infact any ps3 online game is better than gow online. gow is so boring. only decent thing about gow is the grafix and the game is useing the top end of the 360's power halo is going down

oh yes i have played gow online. mate come round with 360 and a few games incl gow, rr6, fifa ect gow sucks online with rfom u can play online with your frends, join the same room and side your friend it on ect but the only diffrence is with rfom u got more maps and more types of game play and diffrent size rooms . gow is like a 20min online game. u do the same thing every time over and over. load game, go online, join a game (4v4 max) start online game shoot and kill or wot most ppl do is hide like little girls rfom u can capture the flag, ect ect. im not saying rfom is the best online game but its a hell of a lot better than gow
