Use a Computer Monitor for Your Xbox 360

Ó

Xbox on your PC

So you were able to cough up $400 bucks for your 360, but you don't have another $500-$3000 bucks for a nice phatty HDTV setup.  Well guess what? You can get about the same quality on your PC monitor at home.  IGN has a nice article out today that shows some of the pro's and con's of using your PC monitor for a display.

In terms of price, high resolution in excess of 1280x720(720p) and response time this solution's tops, but users also have to contend with the size of the average PC monitor, the lack of certain inputs, and having to switch back and forth between the PC and the 360.

Overall it seems like a great idea to me if you don't have the dough for an HDTV, but want to get the same experience as your rich friends.

I have this type of setup in my room since I couldn't shell out the money for an HDTV. I'm using a 26 inch widescreen Philips monitor and an Iogear KVM. The KVM is really nice because it takes the PS/2 inputs for the keyboard and mouse but uses a USB cable to connect those component to each machine (in my case, the 360 and my PC). It also handles the audio, so everything is a breeze. It's a pretty nice setup.
