Update: Xbox 360 Elite slated for "late summer" |

If no news is good news, then Eurogamer's latest report on the arrival of an Xbox 360 Elite to Europe is simply positive. As it stands, there's yet to be any announcement regarding the arrival of a 360 Elite to European shores.Said Microsoft UK spokesperson Kate Szlendak, "At the moment we haven't announced [the date]... The only information we have now is correct with the US market, so we're waiting on the announcement for the UK and other territories." According to the latest figures, however, there's a certain sense of irony to not announcing a European version of the Elite since the set up would presumably cost US$ 480, or the equivalent of 360 Euros.
On the bright side, it also means that there isn't any sort of a claim that there won't be a 360 Elite coming to Europe in the near future. Eurogamer also makes mention of a possible late summer release, though that still remains as speculation. Chances are, we'll just have to wait a week at most for definitive news of a Euro 360 Elite.
UPDATE:
Guess we spoke too soon about that. Right after posting this article, we got word of an update from Eurogamer as well. According to a spokesperson from HMV who spoke with Eurogamer, it's now expected that late summer will be the tentative release date for the Xbox 360 Elite in Europe.
Said the HMV spokesperson, "All we understand is that it's at some point perhaps around the late summer, but we don't know anything beyond that." On the bright side, we now know that it's DEFINITELY heading to Europe.

the price there gonna half 2 pay 4 it is 2 much,i can go get me a 160gb hdd for only 60$....thats y its good 2 go with the best.......(PS3)
nah actually, if you think of the things which the HDD on the xbox allows you today, as it is a secure HDD it means that companies allow video marketplace downloads like HD movies e.t.c also if you think about it as an external self powered laptop battery its not THAT much more expensive. Also just because your getting a 160hdd for $60 it will be low grade (not fast read/write speeds)
and i forgot to add that they are actually going to be giving people HDMI cables which someone else didnt.
i would make a looong post here about what i think about the xbox 360 elite and what its impact will be, analysing every detail and supporting it with facts, but all i feel like saying is

i was the biggest 360 fanboy..till now wat is Micro thinkin.... they lost console war evn to *****ty nintendo... why why wud they make a new console and let down the others
Last time I looked the PS3 is 8 Million consoles behind the 360 and the Wii is 5 and a half million behind so dream on.
you talk crap YOU HAVE TO BUY THE 60gb hard drive with the PS3 BEFORE you can change it so stop talking bollocks and go back to the PS3 section, both first posts here are by PS3 owners who are obviously alarmed at the low sales of PS3 in Europe etc.
I am preordering the Elite asap easy better value than the PS3 with what it includes as standard
