*UPDATE* We've received the details on each of the three different Halo 3 packages that will go on retail. Depending on how much you want to prove your leet Halo fanship, to be the only kid in the block with a replica Mjolnir helmet, or simply have an extra wad of cash to burn, these are what you get from each package:
Legendary Edition
- The SPARTAN Mjolnir helmet case
- Bonus Disc 1: exclusive behind-the-scenes "Making of" footage and videos; also includes a high-def audio-visual calibration tool to tune your home entertainment set for maximum Halo
- Bonus Disc 2: completely remastered cinematic material from Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, with developer commentaries, to provide the backstory to Halo 3; "A Day in the Life of Bungie"; and "Red vs. Blue" and "This Spartan Life" exclusive content
- Halo 3 storyboard art from Lee Wilson
- Halo 3
- Metal collector's case
- Bonus Disc 1
- Special Halo fiction and art book (also serves as a Halo codex/compedium)

Bungie is still mum about the release of upcoming epic video game Halo 3 even though Microsoft's Shane Kim has already "suggested" that a September release is mostly appropriate. According to the corporate VP of Microsoft Game Studios, they want the shooter to come out before Rockstar's GTA IV (360, PS3) does.
Anyway, while we're still waiting for the official word from Bungie, we managed to get official images of the game's packaging in UK. As you can see, the regular edition of Halo 3 will have two different casings that fit well like Master Chief's helmet. Anyway, there's also the Legendary Edition that comes with a replica of a Spartan Mjolnir Mark IV helmet.
The Halo 3 regular edition will be priced at US$ 59.99 while the Legendary one will cost US$ 99.99. There's also another packaging for the Limited Edition that will include bonus discs with additional Halo-related content.

I had the legendary edition reserved, and I just got a phone call from Gamestop saying that official pricing for the legendary has gone up to $129.99, NOT 99.99.
the correct price in gamestop is 129 99 i thinks is too expensive but i will buy!!

I can confirm this. I got not one, but two calls from gamestop about the price increase. There apperently is going to be an art book included with the set now.

I have the Legendary Edition reserved too and I also got a call from EB games today saying that the Legendary pack price is now $130.00! Well w/e I can afford that, but zomgz I cant wait... It looks so ephen kool!!!
They have added an art book, a TV calibration disk to "get the most out of your xbox", a disk containing The Spartan Life machinima, and the disk with all of the Halo1/Halo2 videos will be completely remastered.
I think it's a little expensive but worth it for us really big Halo fans and the Legendary edition is really only designed for big fans anyways so it makes sense.
This comes with a replica spartan helmet, making of dvd, remastered halo1/halo2 cut scenes dvd, red vs blue / spartan life mechinema dvd, cool box, the game, and several other things I can't remember. If your a big fan of something and this ISNT worth the money to you... well, your not a very big fan. Also, your an *****.

The whole point of a "remastered" DVD is for better quality and production values, YouTube quality is *****, it'll look no different than playing Halo 1 and 2 again on the Xbox.

the helmet is not wearable, and the inside shape is rectangle (think 4dvds together) that is how big the inside is, (so if you can get on your cat then i feel sorry the cat)
and all its coming with is 3discs including the game disc

I wouldn't be surpised if Micro$oft put the Xtras on HD-DVD disk as a way to "ENCOURAGE" us to buy the HD DVD drive
Let me guess, your a fanboy aren't you? PS3 will also have its share of good games, so saying all PS3 games suck is ignorant. Also, yes I'm a halo fan too but Halo IS NOT the greatest game ever. There are a lot of awesome games out there and coming out, that are better then Halo.
I reserved the Legendary edition because of the extras that come with it. I might change my mind and get the collector's edition instead.
