...That'll only happen if the number of people who've signed the petition for it rises to 5,000. Yes, a petition was sent to 2K Games and Irrational Games asking them to release a BioShock Collector's Edition. While the petition doesn't detail what sort of content to include in said collector's package (they're giving that liberty to the developers and publisher - they got the rights to release what they want to, anyways), the only thing they demand is that it be released in major territories.
As of writing, the petition already has 3,914 signatures. That's just around a thousand shy of getting what they want. Now if you believe in this cause, you might want to notch your stakes in and sign it yourself. Just click the Read link below and show support for the already growing fanbase.
So anyways, we're just curious... What would you want to see in a collector's edition of BioShock? Exclusive content? Extended cinematics, interviews, dev videos? A multiplayer feature? Well, if anything, maybe what some of you guys really want is, instead of a collector's edition, a BioShock version for the PS3 and Wii.
It's now a couple of hours later after this article was originally posted. Back then, there were only 3,914 signatures. Now? It's 6,435! Yeowza, that was quick! Thanks to PTSnake for giving us some heads up in the comments.
So now that the petition is clearly well-supported... where do we go from here? 2K Games, Irrational Games... If you guys are listening, better release some info soon!

I'd laugh if they just released the same *****, but with collector's edition on the box and charged you all an extra $10

Some people want the extras. Simple as that. I buy them for the tin cases myself, don't care much about the other extras (usually they are tin cases, I usually don't buy them if they don't have a tin case).
I guess people really want a collector's edition. There are now over 7800 signatures.
Collecters editions are GREAT
I mean for the extra content and fancy box, its usually worth the premium.
I.e FEAR, Quake 4 ect.
That'll be awesome if Sony gets this game...
