Bioshock available at Toys R Us - Image 1Reports are coming in that people have managed to buy an early copy of BioShock from Toys R Us. Whether it's an early release, a media promotions event or a shipment error is still unclear.

One report from Nike Talk forums comes from iceman3699 who said he just saw it behind the glass counter while he was out to buy Madden NFL 08 at Toys R Us and simply asked for it.

What's more is that he bought it during a promotion from Madden where the second game you buy is half off. Then he used a 20% off coupon. Result? Bioshock for US$ 29.99.

The receipt pictured is from North Bergen, New Jersey but if one has it chances are most of the others do. One account from Joystiq said that his local branch in Virginia will also have them stocked.

(Suddenly a massive stampede is heard around the world heading in the direction of the nearest Toys R Us branches.)

» Aha!

So that's why I had 3 people call me tonight looking for it No, ours isn't stocked yet (Toronto, Canada). Our employees are smart and know the release dates of games.

» LMAO

Bioshock is overrated. I can't wait for the reviews to come out. HAHAHAHAHAA...as if it's going to sell better than Halo 3.

BTW, I hope the employee of the Toys 'R Us who sold the game gets sued and fired. ROFL, it's only fair...if not, there should be a class action lawsuit, since HE GOT IT FIRST and WE ALL DIDNT!!!

» A craptacular title huh?

BioShock currently has a score of 99 over 8 reviews on MetaCritic. That puts it at number 2 of all-time, second to Ocarina of Time, which has a 99 over 22 reviews.

So in other words, this game is being proclaimed one of the best of all time by reviewers, and has received 10/10s from many big-time magazines and Websites, including Game Informer, GameSpy, OXK UK, and EuroGamer. It also has a 97 from IGN, and the PC version has been given a 95 by PC Gamer.

And it's only for 360 and PC. PS3 + pwnt

» Another thing

BioShock is now the highest rated game of all time on Game Rankings, ABOVE Ocarina of Time

BTW, that should've been PS3 EQUALS pwnt

» It's very f'n true....Hollywood video too

I can't verify "toys r' us" rumors, but common reason will tell you that after hearing it 50 times on 50 respectable websites, that it is true. Secondly I can tell you that I rented the game last night, when I saw it I did a double-take, and grabbed it. Rented it at Hollywood video, and have been playing it since. Now...the game rules. I played the demo, and it was good...but the game is unbelievably innovative, immaginative, mindblowing, and fun. To those who wish to dispell any of this as fact, pure jealousy. I WIN, you LOSE...so suck it suckers!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ! No for real, if you can't find it, definately buy this game Tuesday, it's awesome.
