Too Human Interview with Denis Dyack |
Ó

Hopefully, the guys over at Silicon Knights will be able to make things work come the game's release date, but for now, Denis Dyack - president of Silicon Knights - gamely answered some inquiries with regards to the game. When he was asked about the framerate and camera issues that the game encountered during its E3 stint, Mr. Dyack said that it was a domino effect of sorts, starting from "significant technology issues with the engine that we licensed" which pretty much affected everything in the E3 build.
He said that issues will be worked out and fixed well before the game comes out. "During game development, a game is always in flux and depending on when you choose to look at game you can get a very different impression of it. E3 might not have been our finest hour, but the final game is all that counts." And just to let you know, their target framerate is "30 fps".
He also confirmed rumors about the possibility of wiping out an entire room of enemies without ever touching the ground. He claims that "some of the gameÂ’s designers can stay hovering in the air indefinitely, providing there are enough enemies around them. I havenÂ’t gotten there yet, but it is definitely possible." And he also mentioned that Marketplace demos have great possibilities and they would like to do one before the game comes out, so you guys better watch out for that. Also, according to him, for now, they have no plans of supporting the upcoming Xbox Live Vision camera.
Too Human will also take full advantage of Xbox Live as Silicon Knights "plan on doing achievements with both these ideas and much more actually." He also added that the current DVD-9 medium is not holding them back and the current disc size is much larger then what developers had with Cube. More details will come up about the game "the next time we feel the game is ready to show."
