It's much easier to use tilt controls while lifting the controller a little higher then your normal position. Add on the weight of the controller and you will have sore arms within minutes.
By the time you finish a race in Forza2 a couple times you probably wont use the tilt anymore.
This is the reason tilt devices in the past didn't fare well. They were too heavy to use.

all in all - if it comes out fot the X360 - i doubt i would get it - mega waste of money.

for the PS3 to be doomed there sure are a bunch of tweaks to make it more like the PS3....
