An aspiring SpartanOne of the many joys of the internet is trolling through Petition Online to find out what crazy thing it is that people are asking for lately. Seriously. You run into weird things. However, this bit we ran into isn't exactly that farfetched. In fact, to some of you loyal Xbox 360 fans it may make sense. We ran into a petition for the continuation of the production of the Halo movie.

Yes. People are that passionate about these things. Read the petition below (as seen on the site) and see for yourself:

To: Fox Studios and Makers of the Halo Movie

As some of you may know, the Halo movie has been cancelled recently and any chance of a studio taking it now are slim to none. Now, I know that video game movies aren't often good but Halo isn't any other game. Halo could easily be made into a movie by todays technology and excellent writers at Fox. Fox Backed out because of a US$ 135 million budget. Thats pocket money for FOX! With the team that was with the Halo movie would have made it an excellent movie. Fox I ask to take a challenge with this movie. What have you got to lose?

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Now, if you folks are wanting to see a Halo movie and are willing to believe that your participation in this Online petition will aid whatever fandom gods out there in getting a Halo movie "good to go," then feel free to head to the actual petition via our "read" link below.

Lets get real now. Fox did not worry about the 135mill budget, they were worried that only 10 milion xbox fanboys whould be the only audience for the pricey film. And keep in mind that not all xbox fanboys are interested in tis game so its for sure 7 million at the most.

So they thought why dont we make a god of war movie were more than 100 million (120mill plus ps owners so I left out 20 plus million people who might not be interested in this game)people will come and see it. It is far more interesting story-wise, visual-wise etc.

FIRST AND FOREMOST...... who is that F.A.G. wearing the halo outfit. That straight up proves that there are people out there that can not distinguish video games from reality. He probably thinks he's master chief.... and $10 says he shoots someone next week. Secondly, A halo movie would be the worst movie ever. (Next to all other video game movies released). I can only imagine the stupid one liners and Halo fanboys beating off in their movie seats. BWAAHAHHAAHAH

Go troll on GameFaqs or something you PSWii fanboys.

The Halo series is a spectacular achievement in the game industry, and you guys beat off to being contradictory and going against the grain.

Get your heads out of your ass, trolls.

» Haha, no

Did you come up with those numbers (aka pull them out of your ass) based on sales? If you did, you couldn't be more wrong.

Halo 2 has sold eight million, so yeah, I guess based on sales around 7 million XBOX FANS would go see it. But you're forgetting it would be a sci-fi action film. That opens the door for millions more.

As for God of War, do you know how many copies it has sold? About one million in the US... Granted like a Halo movie fans of that movie genre will go see it regardless if they've played the game, but it won't be NEARLY 100 million.

» Idiot

I'm actually glad illiterate trash like you hate Halo, means I don't have to deal with the shame of playing the same game as you :)

» ***** Game-into-movies

***** every game-into-movie ever made. If these movies cant follow the *****ing game storyline, then ***** the whole movie. ***** SH, MGS, DOOM, Alone in the Dark, Mortal Kombat (the very first one was good tho), Pokemon, FFS, Tomb Raider, Super Mario Bros, Halo and the others that I missed.

» halo 3 is a good GAME

halo series doesn't really have a proper storyline, that can be translated into a movie

» X360 Vs. PS3 [Fact Sheet] [Fact Sheet] [Fact Sheet] [Fact Sheet] [Fact Sheet] [Fact Sheet]

* Halo 3 will be humiliated first then trampled by Lair (cinema quality motion), Ratchet + Clank (Walt Disney meets Pixar), Warhawk (better than Unreal Tournament 3), Heavenly Word (next-gen God of War 3) and Killzone 2 (next-gen Half-Life 3). All these will be released in Jul to Sep. 2007.

* Halo 3 is NOT made from scratch. Halo 3 is an updated version of Halo 2 which was out in 2004 by using Renderware engine (confirmed fact; Bungie chose this method to save huge amount of development time and budget); therefore, Halo 3 is NOT a true next-gen title. Halo 3 can%u2019t even use X360 console%u2019s most power. Renderware is far inferior to other advanced engines such as, Source, Unreal, CryEngine, etc.

* This is why Crapalo (Halo) 3 looks like %u2018Halo 2.5 HD%u2019 in terms of graphics and gameplay (NO breakable buildings or vegetation, NO deformable objects, NO soft shadows, NO facial-animation, NO depth-of-field, NO motion blur, etc). The new Halo 3 alpha footage looks crappy. There're alpha footages of Gears of War and Resistance available online, unless you are blind, you must realize the fact that alpha builds look 90% same as the final versions.

* Halo 3's world is as shinny (bright, flashy with HDR lighting effects) as the one in Perfect Dark Zero. PDZ was the best looking game when it was released in 2005. PDZ and Kameo were made by Rare which is a subsidiary of Microsoft Game Studios (MGS, not the Metal Gear Solid). MGS also owns FASA (which makes Shadowrun) and Bugie (Halo 3). All these companies share all kinds of technologies (DirectX based) which are used to make X360 games. This is the biggest reason why Shadowcrap, Perfect Dark Crap, Kameo and Halo 3 have extremely similar graphical quality (artistic design).

* Bungie's officially announced in Nov. 2006 that Gears of War has very much superior graphics to Halo 3's final (retail) version (GameSpot%u2019s editor asked %u201CWhat game has better graphics, GoW or Halo 3?). If you know the definition of %u2018paraphrasing%u2019, above statement means %u201CHalo 3 will look very much inferior to GoW in the graphics department.

* Killzone 2 is built from scratch (true next-gen); therefore, KZ2 can use most potential power of PS3 hardware. Guerrilla which is a subsidiary of Sony has 120 employees (programmers and graphics designers). The total budget for KZ2 is $21 million (for your reference, Epic spent $9 m to make Gears of War with 80 devs).

* All Sony%u2019s internal developers and Sony%u2019s very close world class companies share all kinds of technologies which are used for making PS3 games (OpenGL based). These top developers are those companies which make games like: MotorStorm, Metal Gear Solid 4, Warhawk, Ratchet + Clank, Resistance, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, White Knight Story, Tekken 6, Heavenly Sword, Gran Turismo 5, Virtua Fighter 5, Final Fantasy XIII, FF versus XIII, Lair, Uncharted-Drake's Fortune, Eight Days, Getaway, God of War 3, Jak and Daxter, Heavy Rain, Afrika, Home and of course Killzone 2.

* Polyphony%u2019s Gran Turismo 4 on PS2 is world's most popular racing game in the entire gaming history based on the number of copies sold. GT HD demo was released in 2006; all game reviewers were surprised that GT HD was just good (80/100) when they expected this new GT HD must have got review scores of 97/100 just like all of its predecessors. After this shock, Polyphony officially confirmed GH HD was an upgraded version of PS2's GT 4; that's why it looks just good. Polyphony later announced that they totally scraped the whole GT HD project and working on GT 5 entirely from scratch. Bungie must take a leaf out of Polyphony%u2019s book; Bungie should scrap Halo 3 then make it from scratch then release it in 2010.
