The Xbox 360 Slim unboxed |

Ó
Need yourself a closer look at the Xbox 360's new look? Fortunately, the guys at Engadget got themselves one and opened it up for everyone to see.
Engadget hasn't compared the physical specs with the existing 360, but based from first impressions, the unit is just about as heavy as the old 360, but the power adapter is smaller and much lighter. The console itself didn't appear to be making much noise, and the disc tray pops out faster than the original.
The rest, well, you can see for yourself.
Thanks Jetfire007!

For those wondering why they did this, I am wondering why they didn't do it sooner(sony and ninty do it all the time)....but the answer is obvious.
The 360 is an in-efficient beast...
They wouldn't even think of a slim model until they got the gpu/cpu down to 45nm. Even then they need to basically make the housing into one huge vent.
Not to mention they still can't have the power supply inside the console.
It sure is shiny though....

It's totally worth it if you don't already own a 360.

He is lazy and just buys duracels. We figured it out and he could have bought a PS3 and at least 2 games with the money he's spent on batteries.

Honestly I think I'd have rather had even a $10 price cut instead of 2 more usb ports lol.
Have to admit though, I LOVE that they finally added wireless integrated in the system, that makes this upgraded 360 worthwhile.

However, the 5 USBs makes sense for people with 4 wired standard Xbox controllers. The extra one can be used to a USB drive seeing as they're now supported.

as opposed to the other $300 dollar system you could submerge underwater, right?

USB door flap is... crap, certain devices don't squeeze into those.
Still a proprietary hard drive, witch sucks.
AND! Last but not least... In fact, probably most, power brick! The system is looking better i think, but it's still reeking of cheepness :/
