The Spartan Helmet

Some folks have been theorizing that Microsoft will find a way to charge a hundred bucks for Halo 3. We think this bit of news adds a bit of credibility to their theory, but not in the way they're expecting. It's called The Halo 3 Legendary Edition exclusive Spartan helmet collectible. The whole helmet costs around $99, game included, so that's around 100 bucks. That's not counting the $5 shipping charge that Gamestop has on the thing.

Three bonus discs that contain:
  • Behind-the-scenes at Bungie Studios with new insights into the Halo Universe and the making of Halo 3.
  • A special hi-res collection of all cinematics from Halo 1 and Halo 2 with director commentary from the Bungie Team bonus
  • Community content from Red vs. Blue, This Spartan Life and Exclusive Gamer Tiles & a Theme
  • Each unit will be serialized for added individuality and collectability
Well is it worth the 100 bucks? what do you guys think?

First, it might not be $100 as at the bottom it said that the pricing could change. $100 is just the estimate. I would buy the helmet if you could actually wear it but it's only as big as a cat's head so I will probably just get the regular or collector's edition.

» collectors edition

I'll get the collectors edition if it comes with the same dvd's that the legendary has. im hoping that the only difference between the collectors and legendary is the helmet. Otherwise i'll get legendary for the dvd content.

» Tacky...

I will without a doubt buy the "Legendary" edition, though I must say that that Spartan Helmet will look mighty tacky next to my nice shiny HDTV...

» Go mine reserved

Already reserved mine, can't wait to display it on my desk. A $100 is chump change for everything you get!

» nice

i'll be getting it for sure

my local gamestop had got an email with more info the other day on this version, aside from the info about the 3 disks that are above here's what it had to say bout the helmet:

the helmet itself is 11.5" deep, 8.5" wide, and 10" tall and is made out of the same stuff that motorcycle helmets are made of (so i would assume that it would someone could wear it)

all 4 disks (game and 3 bonus disks) will fit in the display stand (as shown in the above pic) and the helmet will fit over that.

sweet deal i think
