As an update to our previous report of users being spotted playing a certain "Halo 3 Epsilon", we finally get some details on what it really is. And as we suggested, it's pretty much just a new test version. From Alpha, to Beta, to Epsilon. Over at Xbox-Scene, they were able to get a hold of the actual email that Bungie and Microsoft sent to out to a certain group of Halo 3 beta testers. The email reads:
Congratulations on being selected to participate in the Halo 3 Epsilon! The Epsilon is now available for download on Marketplace!
First, unlike the Alpha, Beta or Delta, this is a very special test in that not only will you be testing nearly final Halo 3 Matchmaking, you will also be able to:
- Play Multiplayer on six maps: Snowbound, High Ground, Valhalla, Last Resort, Epitaph and our new big map, Sandtrap.
- Play Custom Games and test out full game variant editing.
- Play with the Forge and be able to cooperatively edit and save multiplayer map variants. Play up to 4 person co-op on a single Campaign level.
- Play and test the full Saved Film functionality, including screenshots you can view in-game for Campaign, Multiplayer and Forge.

ok right halo3 is all hype? what about mgs4 until JUST recently noone had ever even seen the game yet sony fan boys praised it like the second coming (might as well nothing else coming to the bbq). Atleast the OP has prolly played the beta and KNOWS that he enjoys the game and knows thats its excellent, and dont kid yourself it is excellent.

ROFL. MGS4? Last time I remembered, there was this thing called Tokyo Game Show in Japan and there were $h!tloads of trailers, gameplay demos, vids, etc. around. If anything, Halo 3 hasn't seen much action. HYPE.
Also, MSG4 had the biggest open beta for MGO...it was called MGS3:Subsistence. Boohoo
