We believe that this deserves the term, "OMG," followed by a squeal of delight and some frenzied practicing of Halo 2. We just got informed that the Halo 3 Beta will be coming out in May.
According to the press release sent in to us,
Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie Studios today confirmed the multiplayer beta of Halo 3 will debut to audiences worldwide via Xbox Live on May 16 at 5 a.m. PDT and run through June 6 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Coming exclusively to the Xbox 360console this fall, Halo 3 is the highly anticipated third chapter in the groundbreaking Halo trilogy from legendary developers Bungie. Halo 3 lets gamers experience Master ChiefÂ’s greatest battle as he launches an epic mission to stop the Covenant, destroy the impending Flood threat and ultimately save mankind.
No frills folks. That's what it said. Now, if you'll excuse us, there's a Halo 2 Deathmatch with our name on it, and we need to start practicing. To all those folks who got themselves a copy of the beta key, congratulations!

Yess, the big day is finally coming, expect another 10 million 360 sales when the full release gets here.
I doubt it's real, if it was it'd be sent to general sites like IGN and GameSpot and it'd be up ASAP, and it'd be on the most popular Halo-specific site halo.bungie.org, yet it's not.
If this was real someone reputable (not "this guy who sent is this 'press release'") would know of it and it'd be all over the Net in the blink of an eye, yet it isn't. I'm not tryin to rain on anyone's parade, just telling you not to get your hopes up, since this is most likely false.
If it is true, cool, the date is finally out there, though I would've hoped for it to come sooner
It's also being reported on the BBC new wesite.

Couldn't stop thinking about the QJ article, meant Crackdown is going in at 12 AM on May 16, which is when the Bungie article says it's up, not 5 AM

Don't worry. It's true. We got a press release from a site we frequent that posts only game related press releases for media outlets like ourselves and Kotaku.
I suppose we were just the first to pick it up and one of the first to be dugg. :)
QJ.net got this press release 'cause we're under gamespress.com (a site for gaming journalists where all daily press releases are compiled).
The X button seems to BE a Anti-Vehicle and a bubble shield. Wonder how THAT will work out. (Hopefullllly, its just something you pick up.)

i think when resistance came out.... 360 fans agreed that 32 players is a bad thing. dont think that 32 player matches is all of a sudden good.
That you only have 22 days to download it, but the beta will be up close to release of the game.
The crackdown insert says that you will only be able to download it for a limited time, which is what they are talking about...
The trip mine is bad enough, if they don't keep it at 16 players (which I never even play, 4 vs 4 is the way Halo was meant to be played) then I'll be pissed

I agree, PS3 Fanboys are scared, if Halo is overrated garbage, then how come its online multiplayer has been going strong for almost three years? Yupp it sure is garbage, especially since Halo 3 is the most anticipated game in gaming HISTORY.
360 is definitely hands down the best system!! The new update is comin with instant messaging and mp4/divx support!! and later on iptv!! not to mention everything it has already. Ps3 can blow me....it doesnt have sh*t on the 360. Oh and by the way...ps3 doesnt have a good game worth anything...360 has them all. especially halo 3! Its going to rock! Keep up the good updates and games Microsoft.
I've played Halo before. Many times. It's alright but it's an FPS!!! Aren't there like 23467283 other FPS's? What don't you idiots understand? Well actually the better question is what make Halo so good. Obviously I have no clue, because I've played 1 and 2 (1 is better, check youtube and you'll see the errors in 2). I'm not saying the PS3 is better because now it has ***** for games, and that's a fact. But come on, Halo? It's definitely not the best game ever, maybe the most overrated and bought game ever. But no where close to the best. I just don't get it, it''s an FPS, there's plenty others out there.
