The artists of Red Jade get a website |
Ó
Who or what is Red Jade, and why do they deserve a mention because of their website, you might ask? If you've ever played Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, you will definitely get a better idea of who they are and what they do. Mostly because the tank that's coming over to crush you was probably drawn by them. Call them a type of game production mercenary unit. The Ontario-based Red Jade is an art and animation company that specializes in developing assets used for games. Their most notable work is for the Battlefield 2 expansion sets, where they designed character, vehicle, and weapon models for the game.
Headed by Fredrik Liliegren, former CEO of Digital Illusions CE (DICE), their group is composed of veteran artists and designers in the industry, most of whom worked under Liliegren when they were still a part of DICE and the Battlefield 2 games. These days, the folk at Red Jade are trying to start fresh with a new company, a different name, and a website. The one thing that will stay with these folks, however, is their reputation for designing some sweet work for the wartime FPS.
If you're a fan of the Battlefield series, you may want to check their site out, if only to wait for the latest updates on their exploits. While they may not be working directly on Battlefield anymore, you can bet their future projects will be something you'll enjoy.
