The agents of Crackdown |
Ó
After the deluge of screenshots from Crackdown that we had yesterday, many may have noticed that there are various "heroes" or lead characters in the screens, ranging from a black guy, to a goth-looking character. So, we decided to take a short break to get to know these characters a bit more.
In total, there are eight types of agents to choose from, with each one changing their looks as they get stronger when the player progresses in the game. Out of the eight types, the people over at Real Time Worlds have made it a point to avoid the "typical" hero image which depicts someone who is tall, dark, handsome and white. As a result, we have the African American, Asian, Russian, Goth, Norse, Maori, Thai, and Hispanic agents, all of whom possess their own distinguishing traits.
The African American agent is inspired by the character Blade, and as an homage to the said character, this agent has the same hair style. The Russian agent on the other hand, was inspired by a character from the Highlander film, "Kurgen". The Goth agent proved to be a slight challenge as the designers didn't want him to look like a member of KISS, so they decided to go with the pasty look but use facial hair patterns instead in order to show the character's level and rank. The other agents all bear some trait which shows their heritage, even though these traits may be slightly stylized.
So, in a place like Pacific City, the last thing that you need would be an dull agent. The agents of Crackdown however, all have the personality, as well as the arsenal, to go head-to-head with whatever crime lords have got to throw at them.
