TGS teaches Microsoft a lesson |

We are just in the middle of the TGS and it seems Microsoft is already learning an invaluable lesson. Arguably, the Xbox 360 and the titles accompanying it, have always catered to Westerners and seeing how Asians gravitate towards fellow Asians (Nintendo and Sony are basically known as Japanese companies), Microsoft wastes no time to act.
Reports are now radiating from Tokyo that this American corporation will soon be opening its doors to Asian developers. Microsoft, accordingly, is also working towards securing key asian game properties. While X360 is still the only next-gen console out in the market, it is a wonder the sales remain low especially in Japan.
We all still have to wait for sometime before we find out how the TGS will affect console sales. It is also exciting to know what could happen to Microsoft as Wii and PS3 come out later this year. Just last month, PSOne still sold more in Japan than the X360. Let's see if this move works.

Isn't it be the other way around, Asian developer opening doors to xbox, microsoft has its doors open, asian developers just dont want to develop for xbox.

Microsoft has had their doors wide open and hands out for Japanese devs for quite sometime, this isn't news...It's sad really.. how poorly the console is doing over there, because it's a great system with plenty of games on the way that will cater to the Japanese ..but will they buy it? it's doubtful

Japanese people can be loyal as much as they want, the big companies will still worry about making the almighty dollar over nationalistic pride.
Nintendo too is guilty of putting us first.
to bad the x360 and ps3 are alike,i'm enjoying the Nintendo Ds/PSP handheld era,two systems with 2 completely different library of games,i mean these two systems almost compliment each other in a way that the Wii will with either the 360 or Ps3.

All you have to do to sell well in Japan is release turn-based cookie-cutter RPGs, robot games, and big head baseball games. Add in an occasional soccer and Metal Gear game.
Japanese gamers don't care for realistic sports and braod ranges of gamking genres. It's RPG, RPG, RPG for over half their game sales.
