Since a Halo movie is in production, and people are eagerly waiting for word from either Bungie or Microsoft about the status of the next installment in the Halo series, we're posting something that we think will help ease the wait for eager 360 fans. The folks at Podtacular posted a list of things their users want to see show up on the next Halo 3.
- Armor that takes visible damage. If they could do it on cars in racing games, why not for shooters? Heck they're already featuring destroyable environments in other contemporary games.
- Dynamic weather and daylight. For another way to customize a level and make it interesting, many people suggested having the option for weather such as snow, rain, or fog on a level to change the feel. Also having different times of day or night would change the whole look and obviously impact gameplay in a positive manner. Having to wait until cover of dark does add a tactical twist to things, especially if they add in time constraints to team-based play.
- More interactive and destructible maps. Do we really need to explain why people want this feature added?
- A survival mode. A gameplay mode where you have to see how long you can survive while waves and waves of Covenant are sent in to try and take you out. When Ninety-Nine Nights meets First Person Shooting.
- Usable Jackal shield.
- More playable characters. According to the books, not all the Spartans bought the farm, so why not introduce more of them? Alternate versions of them? Spartans in differently designed armor?
- A map editor. Games like Far Cry: Instincts already have this feature on the Xbox. Why not Halo 3? Bungie could make money out of this if they allowed players to share maps they made online. It definitely invites some of the creatives in the mod scene.
- Online cooperative play. Deathmatches can get tiresome after a while. Many would prefer for the difficulty to be hiked up somehow to accommodate for an extra soldier on the battlefield.
- A flyable Pelican. The reason people want this is because of the need for a viable troop transport vehicle where you can send in an overwhelming force of foot soldiers. That is, if you can get them there of course. This is where balance comes in; debate is quite heated as to how many rockets it should take to bring one down. Regardless, people want a flying transport!
- Bots. Love bots, or hate bots, but tons of people want to see bots as an option in Halo 3 multiplayer. Admit it, bots are very useful training dummies. It can help you hone your killing skills without fear getting yelled at by your teammates. The best way to avoid people screaming "n00b" at you is to train, train, and train some more.

Apparently, they are trying to pull that off for Halo 2 Vista, but I don't know if it will be similar to Far Cry's (where you can only place objects and stuff) or if it will let you place entire buildings and pieces of scenery. Either way, that'd still be hard to do on a console, the precision of a PC is needed.
