Tecmo's Quantum Theory no longer a PS3 exclusive |

Ó

Scratch one game off the PS3 exclusivity list. Tecmo has just made it known via press release that their upcoming third-person shooter, Quantum Theory, will be heading to the Xbox 360 console as well.
Quantum Theory's Xbox 360 version will be tracking a Spring 2010 release window -- the same one given to the PS3 version's North American launch. Same goes for Europe. A few months back, Tecmo said that they made Quantum Theory a PS3 exclusive because it has "the highest specs." Does this mean they're revising that statement?
Quantum Theory puts players in control of Syd as he tries to make it up the "Living Tower", an ever-changing battleground crawling with things that want nothing more than to kill him. With him is an AI-controlled female partner named Filena who he can perform actions with as a pair, including a fastball special where he throws her at enemies for massive damage. Seriously. The game also comes with four online modes.

Yeah, you're right. All third-party games will be on both platforms. Then it comes down to first-party developers.
Sony has Gran Turismo, God of War, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank, Team ICO games, Uncharted, Warhawk, MAG, WipeOut and more....
Microsoft has Halo, Fable, Forza and.... yeah, that pretty much is it. Maybe Black & White for a future console but that's just speculation.
Gears of War? Third-party game from Epic Games.
Left 4 Dead? Third-party game from Valve.
Mass Effect? Third-party game from Bioware.
Maybe they can snatch some timed-exclusives but ultimately, they can't ignore the huge userbase of the rival.

No treally, the PS3 might have the highest specs but put in a multi disc format and you get a 360 game...I think that's why like Squenix did with the American FFXIII

The thing is, looking at it, it looks like a mediocre game that will probably not do well at all. Not that it is a multi-console game, but that it isn't original in anything.

It's a genre where every game doesn't have too many differences other than how many people are playing at once. There are some that are actually different, like Unreal Tournament 3 and Timesplitters, but then there are others that are exactly the same as nearly every other iteration such as Halo, Resistance, Call of Duty, Killzone, etc, etc, etc. Sure the storylines of such ones may be different, but the general gameplay is pretty much exactly the same with a few slightly alternate weapons.

Doubt it's going to be very good, on any console.

The question is. Will it blend?

Because this relatively under the radar Gears ripoff (made by Tecmo no less, not exactly known for their amazing games) was totally gonna get more devs to make their games PS3 only. lulz
I would end that comment with a rolleyes smiley, but I don't know how to input smileys on the new QJ system (well, it's old, but they returned to it)

Well by that logic, no developer is making enough money on the 360 then. But since they are making money, and many doing very well on the 360 (often making more on the 360 than the PS3 for multiformat games), then a 360 version of this game will mean more money for the developer. So er, what's this game called again? :)

so... have fun Tecmo.

The majority of consumers aren't retards who buy games based on exclusivity (or previous exclusivity). Only d*ckheads on sites like QJ do lololol. Just because your friends are fantard idiots who feel they owe allegiance to a piece of plastic, doesn't mean the rest of the (normal) people are like that. Get outside more
If this game is any good and gets marketed well, it'll sell. If not, it won't. Simple as that
