Tech bootstrap: Command & Conquer 3 concept screens |
Ó
That's (EALA's concept art for) Nod's latest version of their attack cycle. That two-wheeled puppy has come far since its rocket-launching days, hasn't it? (GDI commanders everywhere are hoping it's just as fragile.) Via WorthPlaying, EALA shows off some more of its concept art behind the hyper-advanced tech that animates Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (not to mention more features of the game we haven;t mentioned yet).
Aside from the concept for a GDI air unit (The Firehawk or the next-gen ORCA?), a Harvester, and a Nod infantry unit, thrown in for good measure are what look like two in-game screens, one of which features Nod's answer to the GDI Mammoth, the Avatar warmech. As mentioned in a couple of EALA podcasts, that bad boy can rip the weapons off of Nod units to beef up its arsenal. And mention was made in WorthPlaying of "FLYING BATTLESHIPS" (haven't heard that before). Those would be so cool... if they weren't going to hurt us.
Another feature mentioned in WorthPlaying is integrated clan support and native VOIP, stuff we'd normally see in online FPS/TPS. Team play has always been part of the RTS genre (remember Starcraft? You beef up my defenses, and I'll spam Carriers up the other guy's Zerg posterior), but clans should make things interesting from a scorekeeping standpoint.

omg it looks sexy!
why does somebody keep putting info on this game in 360 section when its PC ONLY!
This game isn't PC only, it is coming out on the 360 aswell. If you go and look at the C+C3 website, you'd see that they anounced this on November 20th and they even have a Q+A on the 360 version. Check it out here: http://www.ea.com/commandandconquer/
