X-S Team Xecuter - Image 1

Over the past couple of years, the Microsoft Xbox 360's "red ring of death" (RROD) has garnered enough notoriety to make it the bane of every console owner. It strikes without warning, and leaves you in the cold until you get it fixed via warranty service.

If you're not the type who'll come running to Microsoft for help in resurrecting a dead console, Team Xecuter has a nice alternative. The X-S kit is now out and ready for shipping to get rid all the Xbox 360's nasty, crimson gremlins.

Of course, this kind of stuff will have to land on the hands of someone who knows exactly what he's doing. Working miracles on consoles isn't easy, so be sure to have the know-how before you get any big ideas. Information on where to order this kit can be found by following the Source Link below.

» Okay...?

What a detailed explanation on how exactly this 'fix' works.

Is it fairy dust? Sounds pretty dubious to me.

Your console is f*cked. Send it back and get it fixed.

actually its very easy to fix, but qj doesnt report that.......use a heatgun, or use the units own heat if u cant afford it, some screws, and thats about it, ur basically redoing the heatsink for the chip and gpu and the thermal paste, theres tons of other cooling mods like striping the mesh to increase airflow, and dbling the fan voltage, its all very easy, and more successful than MS's BS

yeah but that means opening the 360 and voiding your warrenty.. the only time I see this as being remotly useful is when MS 3 year warrenty has ran out...

» well

if you actually used your head before writing, you would know thousands of people flash their 360s and void the warranty, thus this kit would be perfect for them.

» It's cool Blase, you might not know...

As the guy above said.. some unit are flashed/modded so the fixing is all need outside of MS. Besides, there are ppl that I know sent theirs back 4 or more times and they still get the RROD so MS is not THE solution. Btw, I just bought a modded RROD unit for like $30 locally. I originally plan to use it for practicing taking the thing apart. Depends on how much this kit cost it might worth more than an educational experienece in this case.

yeah good point... forgot about that...

to teh not so 1337 g@m3r

you didn't have to come here and act like a smart ass either... not every one pirates games F@G

» Are you serious?

poeticjedi:

Cooling does nothing to prevent RROD, and you can't seriously think that re-seating the chips is a permanent fix.

» @BlaseCasper316

Don't want to insult, but not everyone who ope their 360 mods it and pirates games. Some people open it to put in custom cases and internal coolers to prevent RRoD. I have plenty of friends who hates pirated games, but they have modded(custom) 360s they don't flash it they just make physical changes.

by BlaseCasper316 - 2008-03-29 16:33
» yeah I know...

I didn't mean it like that... those asshats that just get on messege boards and stuff and all they do is smart off to people for no reason... those people just piss me off... I know about all the custom case modders and such... I would love to do it myself if I could afford it...

RROD occurs because of overheating, so of course improving the cooling will keep the circuit board from warping and breaking the solder connections.

» Come to think of it..

it is very close to April 1st too.. and I'll be laughing my A$$ off if all the tool kit does is to change the color of the led from red to green *LOL* yeah that classified as *fixing* the red light problem ;)

by lavino - 2008-03-30 12:22
» and.. not saying it is fake but...
