Microsoft may not have said anything about it during GamesCom, but it seems a price cut is still a go for the Xbox 360. In fact, if a new Target ad is to be believed, both the Pro and Elite models will be getting their retail prices slashed.

According to the ad, which is apparently for next week, the 60GB Pro system will be sold for only US$ 249.99 while the 120GB Elite will be getting its price slashed down to US$ 299.99. There have been rumors before that the Pro line is being discontinued so this could be a way for Microsoft to help retailers clear stock off their shelves.

Based on Target's ad schedule, the price cuts are expected to take effect by August 30. Other retailers have put out similar ads, although Microsoft has yet to announce anything official.
