Ó

How much is Project Natal going to cost when it launches? Well, if the Swedish retailers are correct and to be believed, it's going to be somewhere around US$ 200.

So far, Swedish retailers have been putting a 1,499 SEK price tag to it, which roughly translates to something under US$ 200. As to whether or not that's the final deal for Microsoft's motion technology gadget, we can't really say. They've been pretty mum about this particular detail.

Suffice it to say, speculations have been running wild, especially since it's been confirmed for a Fall 2010 release by Microsoft, as well as the impending presentation at E3 next month. If there's any place we could get information about this, I think it's safe to say it's gonna be in LA.

it's quite the risk microsoft will be taking here if they launch a new tech at such an unfriendly price. we've seen how that strategy hurt sony with their ps3 price launch. took them a while to seriously recuperate from that.

well the long wait should indicate that its going to be expensive... If they told us now a lot of interest would be lost. they need people to desire it if they can make them desire it enough then all they need to do is put any price on it and the lemmings will sign on the dotted line

Natal must have cost a ton of R&D money. People are still going on about "it's un upgraded eyetoy" when in reality it's much more advanced, as the devs who support it have said, so who needs to listen to uneducated comments on gaming sites lol.

But $200 would not be good for MS, they're better off to take a hit and launch it lower to see some real momentum.

It doesn't work like that. When something costs 1500 SEK in Sweden, it costs 150 dollars in USA, or less. It has always been like this, and this would be no exception. Sweden has very, very high taxes, and companies are evil for rounding off currency exchange rates in the wrong way, and a lot too.

Steam much?
In USA pay 60 dollars for a game, in Europe pay 60 Euro for the same game

I think their grossly overestimating or its a bad translation of currency, MS intentionally left out the natal processor last I heard to make the cost more mainstream, so Natal is very much a half software solution. I can't see the cost being that high unless there gonna try to pull an Apple and sell it on name brand alone.

Um yeah, Microsoft would just give out Natal pricing to retailers 6 months in advance. Good one.

Welp, guess I can use that $200 and put it towards the PS3's Move.

I can't believe anyone is taking this seriously, they just put a price so they can start taking pre-orders. The reason it's so high is because it's better to decrease than increase the price later.

is that it will most likely cost between £100 and £150. Judging by other devices... I believe both Sony and MS are waiting to find out prices for Move and Natal so that they can compete with each other, either way I think the PS Move will most likely cost less
