Ó
You John Woo enthusiasts have something to tide you over 'til the upcoming release of Stranglehold's full version. Major Nelson reports that the Strangleholddemo's already up in the Xbox Live Marketplace. We're currently downloading the free single player demo of Midway Games' Stranglehold (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), so expect a first impressions of sorts of the video game soon (crap, can't the connection be any faster?).The Stranglehold demo's available in almost all territories for download except in Germany. In this promising title from Midway Games, you'll be playing as Inspector "Tequila" Yuen. You'll be battling those Hong Kong crime lords and the Russian mob boss who's captured your ex-wife in typical and exciting John Woo fashion. Haven't you seen the gameplay videos? You better watch them now while you're still downloading the free demo to see exactly what you can do with those guns in Stranglehold.

I'm gonna download this
the game engine looks like a tweaked GTA3 engine. boring!
Shows how much you know, it's unreal engine buddy...
Also, the game is freaking awesome....only *ok* next gen graphics....but absolutely AMAZING next-gen gameplay....so much destruction and mayhem...
shatterdome : don't forget it's also only a demo so graphics will likely be improved by september
Aug 27th, so not really much if anytime to improve it...unless this is a very old build...
if its the unreal engine, they fawked up coz the latest UT engine is the UT3 engine. that means its not even as good as the GTA3 engine. ROFL
the graphics blow in comparison to COD4, Halo 3, MGS4, etc so it'll suck.
demos are usually cut down versions of the full game. name a game that has looked 30% better than a demo of it. NONE...they have deadlines to meet so they dont do much on a technical level buddy. READ

Unreal engine has an affinity for letting you go below the map....happened alot in Gears before some updates as well...
I'll be the first to say that the graphics aren't anything amazing...but they are good enough.
However, the gameplay is freaking amazing...you obviously don't have a 360 or you'd know this....
But hey, if judge a game based soley on the graphics you really have no idea about games at all....
hey is xbox live accesible in Asia and are people in Asia allowed to download game demos as well ???
A released game that looked 30% better than its demo?
Halo 3? or would you consider beta different from a demo?
yes they are
Halo 3's final release will not look 30% better than it's beta release. if that's so, it would run 15 fps faster than the 30 fps mark, boost 30% more polygons, allow 6 more characters onscreen without slowdown, and better particle effects, etc? HA!
yes, graphics have everthing to do w/ first person shooters. in order to be efficient at playing fps games, u have to pay attention to detail...and detail has a lot to do w/ the enviroment, mood, and setting.
"the graphics blow in comparison to COD4, Halo 3, MGS4, etc so it'll suck."
wow an effing rocket scientist here...
Unless you like making yourself look like a clown. In that case, please continue.
