Xbox 360 RPG fans have a lot to be thankful for today, as a slew of upcoming RPG releases were announced for the console at Microsoft's Xbox 360 RPG Premiere event. One of these is the latest installment of the space opera videogame series known as Star Ocean, with its fourth title finally getting a name and a release date.

This fourth title in Tri-Ace's Star Ocean series will be called Star Ocean: The Last Hope. From the looks of the trailer, which you can find below, the game will actually look at the time relatively close to the end of planet earth, wherein starfaring voyagers head off to space to search for other hospitable planets to inhabit. We suppose that these voyagers (and the associated technologies, of course) being the aforementioned last hope of the planet.

As for a release date, you can expect Star Ocean: The Last Hope to make its debut on the Xbox 360 in 2009. No word on exclusivity though, so we may see this getting released on the PS3 as well at a later date.

It does not make any sense why SE is releasing these games on the 360 and not the PS3.

» Thinking the same

Keep wondering that myself. Both SE and Namco know their RPG base went with the PS3. To turn of fans is quite a shame

eevr heard of exclusive payments? one example is GTA DLC. As you should know, Micorosoft paid 50 million $ just that the X360 version gets exclusive DLC.

And i bet they paid Tri-Ace to make this game on the X360, too.

» Yeah.

Wouldn't see why this would be an exclusive seeings how the past games have been on Sony and Nintendo consoles in the past. However, can't really say anything now because of Devil May Cry 4.
