Splinter Cell Double Agent: The Guns and Gadgets of Sam

One hallmark of Tom Clancy is the realism and the research he does when it comes to all that military hardware he features - from the Typhoon-class stealth-driven ballistic missile submarine Red October to the M1 Abrams tanks of the Buffalo Cav. And when "Tom Clancy's" is stamped on a game title, that title damn better carry the hallmark of realism - or realistic plausibility - as well.

So it is with the weaponry and gadgets of Splinter Cell Double Agent. In this GameTrailers feature on Ubisoft's Sam Fisher 4.0 title, Senior Designer Christopher Smith tours future players on all the wonderful upgrades and added features they've thrown into the guns and gadgets of Sam.

Like did he mention that the Sticky Cam now comes with less-than-lethal, lethal, and Mexican Jumping Bean upgrades? We're serious, and so is Christopher: the Sticky Cam can now jump from one place to another, spew gas, flashbang, detonate, shock... as well as keep an eye out on the enemy.

They didn't stop with the Sticky Cam. All the technology featured in Double Agent are based on or developed from real-world examples, weaponry, and available today, from the assault rifle to the gel-based personal armor. Exoti-fied, maybe, but that's also a Tom Clancy hallmark. Learn more at the click of the Play icon.
