KontrolFreek - Image 1Any gamer who's finished joystick heavy games knows what kind of stress it can place on the thumb (remember NASCAR?). Well KontrolFreek, LLC has released SpeedFreek, an ingenious yet supremely simple device that drastically cuts out the stress on your thumb from playing on the Microsoft Xbox 360's joystick for an extended period of time.

SpeedFreek is essentially an extension for your joystick, giving it barriers around the surface. The result is that your thumb pushes against the barriers instead of the surface of the joystick itself, allowing you to use less effort to move it around, and at the same time giving you more control over it.

Hopefully it'll spare your thumb the risk of losing its fingerprint as well. The accessory costs US$ 9.95 and can be purchased through KontrolFreek's website at the read link below.

How old is this?

I think I remember seeing this a few months after the 360 launched. I thought it was useless then and i still do now, but i guess some peoploe might need it. BTW, losing your thumb print is not a bad thing >.>

.

That looks retarded, if your thumbs hurt from playing games to much then take a break. I don't care what game you play (including Nascar) just don't play to the point where your thumb hurts, for example you could not down on the stick so hard while turning

.

I read about this from the Forza2 forums, and out of curiosity gave it a purchase. I hated using the wheel all the time because you couldn't do a lot of the little things with the wheel (painting the car, mostly). Say what you want about this product, but until you've tried it, you have no right to say it doesn't work. For racing games it really does give an incredibly level of control over the left thumbstick...especially for people like me who tend to "over flick" the thumbstick when I just need a very tiny bit of movement. This corrected that. And no, I don't work for KontrolFreak, but I did buy it, and I do use it, and I do feel it was worth it. No, not everyone is going to like it, but it seems those people haven't used it. The people that HAVE used it seem to be overwhelmingly positive.
