"Speed-skating" glitch found in Modern Warfare 2

The problems don't appear to be waning for Infinity Ward and Modern Warfare 2. Another glitch has hit mainstream, and with many other glitches patched previously, you'd probably go wondering just how many of these exploitable bugs are out there. Every time something's fixed, someone discovers a new one. This one seems to be the hot glitch for today's cheaters, and it's a speed-skating glitch that lets players "skate" all over maps at high speed.

One tipster informs Kotaku:

"When I entered the game the glitching was really noticeably. Everyone's run speed was jacked way up and you'd slide/float across the ground like you were on ice rather than solid ground. I've talked to other players and its happened to them in separate games as well."

So far, only the Xbox 360 version has been found to be affected by the glitch. No confirmation yet if the ones on the other platforms are experiencing the same. Robert Bowling hasn't acknowledged the problem, but hopefully, they're hot on working on yet another patch.

You shouldn't be able to make simple changes to the client side files to cheat. It should be controlled and regulated server side. This is a huge oversight by Infinity Ward, thinking the games files are safe on consoles. The PC probably wont have this problem since its files are regulated by steam so changes cant be made. But the DX hacks basically make the PC version worse so w/e.

It's host side. That means the person with the modified file has to be chosen as host for this modification to work.

as ive said before this game is beta and a ripp of money so , hope they dont produce the next COD MW hope activision take me out

This involves hex editing MW2 files on your PC and putting them back on your Xbox. What most people would call hacking, not a glitch

I find this hilarious because the same stuff was possible in COD4. How are the same exploits in MW2? Did they not even think while making this game?

QJ get your fucking facts straight. This is a hack not a fucking glitch. As for Master Chef... That goes for you too. It's not the same fucking thing as COD4. This involves using a J-Tag modded console to inject code into the MW2 game. Looking up the infection hack for more information.

Actually these hacks were possible for all before they patched it. You did not need a jtag at first. I would know, I did it teehee

I had fun playing it but I don't know how anyone could cheat because everybody is moving so fast it actually helps you improve your hand-eye coordination. The people in the lobby had so much fun that no one left for 3 hours because they were afraid the glitch be erased.Infinity Ward should make this a mode and create a huge map where we can just run around and play infection or something.I don't know about everybody else but the people I played with loved it and we simply just had fun with it and didnt use it to boost or anything, In fact people thought I was the one who was doing it but I don't do those things (I don't even know how to do it) and received about 3 friend request.One guy kept saying "whoever is doing this,send me a F.R. because this is so cool". The only thing it does help you do is complete the marathon challenge a little quicker but that's it.
