Make cooler characters with new DLC - Image 1The Xbox 360 version of Soul Calibur 4 (also on PlayStation 3) recently got itself some new downloadable content, presenting the Xbox 360 gaming public with some "new" music, as well as some nifty new equipment for the game.

The musical stylings of the original Soul Calibur are now available for play in Soul Calibur 4. There are 17 tracks in total which can be integrated into SCIV, with each costing 80 Microsoft Points each or 1,200 MS Points for a full pack.

There's also a 100 MS point equipment pack available for the game. Here's a list of the items in the pack that we found courtesy of the source link:
  • Devil's Mask - +30 ATK, -20 DEF, +30 HP. Astaroth's 2P mask from Soul Calibur II
  • Tsurugi Shiragame - +10 DEF, +25 HP, 20 Gauge, 20 Special. (Yoshimitsu costume part).
  • Iron Mask - +15 ATK, +30 DEF, 20 Boost. Voldo's Alien mask from Soul Calibur II
  • Scorpion - +20 DEF, +15 HP, 20 Impact, 20 Gauge. Another Voldo mask.
  • Nightmare Helm Torment - +20 DEF, +20 HP, 20 Impact. Nightmare's 1P helmet from Soul Calibur

» Rape!!!!

Can we all just agree this is the ultimate in milking DLC... I'll buy a character pack if it has multiple chars for a reasonable price... but the music = NO WAY.

» Agreed

The equipment its ok, but the music... they are selling something that should have been included on a game.

» Sell us the entire game.

I also agree. Its a bit much to release a game, then no less than 3 days later, release dc you have to pay for! Just scandalous.

» Well...

they did sell a complete game, and the music they are selling, is the OST for Soul Calibur 1 that was released on Dreamcast some years ago. And the armor pieces are just bonuses too, and for a buck 49 ($1.49) it's not that bad, but they could've added the armor pieces and sold other pieces to make different characters.

» Oh...

and the Soul Calibur OST is only $14.99. Too bad you can't use it outside of the game.

Totally agree about that. I mean come on mp3's are like what 3MB for a 5 min song?

Who hates the new character creation system? I think all the stats kill it. In 3 you could make a character the way you saw fit and have it look the way you want, with the only penalty being it's alignment of good or evil. Now you have to worry about tons of stats and abilities(the abilities are stupid as hell, bring back soul charging). So pretty much you can have a character you have that looks perfect to you, but it may have such lousy stats you have to edit it. Soul Caliber 4 is good, but theres tons of things they should have kept(soul charging, more equipment, no stats on equipment) in exchange for things that are pretty lame(soul gauge, critical finishers).
