Did you know that the creator of the original story for Epic Games' Xbox Live title, Shadow Complex, is none other than renowned comic book author David? Well now you do. Microsoft Game Studios announced this little bit of trivia today via press release, in anticipation of the game's online release in August.

Peter David is one of the most prolific and best-known comic book writers of all time, with 12 years on The Incredible Hulk tucked nicely in his belt. He's also penned stories for other famed comic book characters like Supergirl, Aquaman, Spider-Man, Star Trek, Wolverine and many more.

The story he's created for Shadow Complex runs parallel to the events in Orson Scott Card's best-selling novel, Empire. The perfect mix for this shadowy adventure involves government conspiracy, dark politics, military upheaval, and the evil plan of the Restoration, a rogue paramilitary group.

Powered by Unreal Engine 3, this winner of several "Best of E3" awards thrusts players into a realm filled with collectible power-ups, abilities, character evolution into a "super-powered engine of destruction" in a "massive, dynamic game world."

If you'd want to get the chance to meet Peter David up close, the Comic-Con in SanFo is the place to be as he will be at the San Diego convention Center for an autograph signing session. He is scheduled for the signing at 10AM on Friday, July 25th, at the Xbox 360 booth, Hall G #5225. David will be joined in by Shadow Complex creators Donald Mustard and Epic Games' poster boy Cliff Bleszinski.

Shadow Complex launches on the XBLA on August 19, 2009 and will cost 1,200 MS Points (US$ 15).
