Red Xbox 360 Resident Evil 5 - Image 1Confirmed, confirmed, confirmed. Injecting the media with an official press release, Microsoft has finally announced the Red Xbox 360 Resident Evil 5 bundle.

It's going to be available the same day as the game - March 13, 2009 - and will include the following:
  • red Xbox 360 Elite console
  • red limited edition wireless controller
  • black Xbo x360 headset
  • 120GB HD, with exclusive RE5 XBL theme
  • A copy of Resident Evil 5
  • Download coupon for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Yes, that's pretty much everything that was rumored about previously. The press release doesn't mention any price, so you might want to check with your local retailer how much it's going to be - and if they're going to be selling the bundle to begin with.

While the same console bundle is an exclusive for New Zealand, there also doesn't seem to be any mention of specific retailers participating in this promo in other regions.

*Update* We got some info from trusty GameStop branch manager tipster Kaizer_911 once again, thanks to the wonders of FaceBook! The video game retailer will be carrying the bundle: they'll be available on March 13 for US$ 399.99.

Pre-orders are also already available ("First time in a long time GameStop is taking reserves on a limited edition console," says Kaizer_911), with a deposit of US$ 50.

» Hmmm

Same Price as old elite minus the 2 crappy games but gives you a way better game that actually cost a nice sum of money and a DLC game, a pretty good one at that as well. If you are planning on getting an Elite wait for this. Unless of course your a fan of lego indiana jones and kung fu panda.
