We can't wait to get our hands on the new maps included in Halo 3's new Heroic Map Pack, which will become available on December 11 courtesy of Bungie Studios. Luckily for us, we've got some screenshots of the downloadable content.

As we have mentioned in a previous article, the Heroic Map Pack consists of three maps: Standoff, Rat's Nest, and the Foundry, and will be available for 800 Microsoft Points.

Halo 3 Standoff map - Image 1

Here's Standoff, formerly known as Jodrell Bank, an outdoor playground sprinkled with hills, rocks, and the occasional tree. This map can accommodate any number of players.

Halo 3 Rat's Nest map - Image 1

This is Rat's Nest. This indoor map is perfect for 6 to 16 players, and is ideal for games such as Multi-flag, Territories, Neutral Bomb, and Team Slayer.

Halo 3 Foundry map - Image 1

Finally, here's the Foundry. This map is suited for 4 - 12 players, and almost any type of games will work well in this map, especially Territories and Assault.

Again, these maps will be available starting December 11. More updates to come!

» you my friend are an idiot

You're obviously an idiot, why would you state you wont be getting these and whining about the price when you don't even own the game. You're either a ps3 fanboy idiot waiting for haze, or a poor idiot who hates halo because he can't afford it. Either way you're an idiot.

Halo 3 is a good game, but could have been so much better. The options for online play just suck. I really hate the menu setup. I'll wait until these maps are free, even though it will be in spring 2008.

» agreed

H3s maps just aren't as instant classic as Halo 2's.

thats my biggest complaint with the game so far.

no big deal tho, CoD4 keeps me plenty busy.

» confused!

you think the game sucked, you traded in your copy so why check out the maps you cannot use or play anyway?

Maybe just worried that you missed something :)

» 800 points

don't get me wrong but when people can make their own maps why would we pay for these? OK they will be good maps but lots of people can make good maps with the tools available in Halo 3.

Oh well, maybe we can sell Halo maps on e-bay

For once I agree that MS are just milking the cow until its dry.

With forge, you can only move objects around. You cannot move the buildings around or change the landscape.
