Saint's Row

Gamers have been dying to see some sort of multiplayer modes become available in the Grand Theft Auto series, but unfortunately the only thing we ever saw from Rockstar were two player minigames on console versions. Luckily, the developers over at Volition are eagerly working on 6 multiplayer modes for their upcoming game Saint's Row, which will support anywhere from 2 to 12 players in a free roaming environment. The dutch website Xboxworld was able to get the first multiplayer screens ever released, so take a good look at what this game will have to offer. Saint's Row is planned for release on August 29th, and THQ has also said that a demo should appear on the XBLM my August 1st, so we'll have to see if they can make that date.

Can't wait to try this out on marketplace! It looks decent, but the gameplay/controls might suck!

Having played preview code of single-player side of the game these shots don't look like multiplayer.

Hell, one of 'em is a cut-scene!!!

I'm not sure about this. THQ haven't really said anything about this side of the game yet.

I really wasn't too crazy about another GTA clone and dismissed this game early as crap.... But, lately i've been getting more and more curious. Seriously, how long were fps considered doom clones before it became it's own genre?
