The highly anticipated GTA-style game Saints Row has finally put up a demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace for everyone to enjoy. As always the demo can be downloaded free of charge, and this time it is available in all Xbox Live regions except Germany and Mexico. This demo weighs in at a hefty 904.96MB, so you can expect Microsoft's servers to be taking a hit for the next couple of hours. Yeah i got it yesterday in my xbox mag and played it to completion and it's really not all that great. You can't even really get the cops to chase you or anything fun like that. Hopefully the full version is much better. I also noticed some major problems such as when you try to target an opponent with a hand weapon and some graphic problems.
When you want to play a B/C game like San Andreas on the 360 do u have to change the display settings from 720p to 480p? or do u just put in the game and start playing?
It depends on your cable to your T.V, if you have a VGA cable, then the games ether work, or wont as the games must b in the B/C list AND also support 60hrz.
If you are useing the scart or RGB connections, and the game u want to play is in the B/C list, it should play aslong as u have a Hard Drive.
and WOOT downloading the demo cant wait to play it!

what do you mean? dont play it to completion, just a few missions then free roam. ive had 4 cops chase me and ram me into other cars. but i do agree with targeting people it kinda sucks. you can also get out of the demo barrier and pick up an AK-47

well to get the ak 47 you have to go through the barrier by the hospital. so its easiest if you die cause then its right there on your left. get a car and like up with the barrier parallel about a cars door length then double tap Y and you jump right through.

^ that will show you how to get the AK47, but carefull where you step cause you can fall through the ground and end up back in the demo area.
ps- the AK47 respawns after every 10 seconds or so, so just stand ontop of where it spawns and you get as much ammo as you want.
Hope this kicks arse. Im tied between picking up Dead rising and Saints Row. If SR is tight I will be picking that up because of the Online.
Been playing alotta Oblivion lately(which isnt a bad thing) but I bought my 360/gold live to play ONLINE.

Has anyone got that to work I have been trying it for hte past 30M and everytime I get half way through the barrier I reset ?
This game's awesome! As fun as GTA. All the nay-sayers can suck a dic*, you're just stupid and you're actually doing the missions (you should do them all once, then play again and do every one except the last), free-roaming is where it's at!
And I like the aiming, no auto-target trash like GTA, makes it feel like you actually have to do something to kill a guy.
This game has potential but holy crap it's a carbon copy of San Andreas. Which of course isn't a bad thing, S.A. rules! Graphics are nice with the vehicles looking mighty fine but man do the trees and shadows casting of them look horrible. Seriously they look like pre ps2 shadows. But anyway the characters are cool and the free-roaming is a blast if you do all the missions except the last one(for the money) then go to Friendly Fire and buy as many pipe bombs as you can. Go outside and start killing people till the cops come then start chucking those pipe bombs and watch the awesome explosions. Theres a shotgun you can get from some of the cops too and it's pretty nasty. Oh and don't forget to visit Brown Baggers and buy some drugs, no seriously. There's nothing quite like smoking a bong in the middle of the street while going on a killing rampage. If the multiplayer is good then I'm definetly getting this one.

Just been playing and I have to say I think its a sweet game.
As pretty much everyone has said its a carbon copy of GTA just with a few improvements.
Its just a fun game to play as is GTA.
I also like the aiming. It involves skill which means for better online.
I can't see how GTA aiming/drives bys would really work in multiplayer. I mean how would you feel about Halo 2 with auto aim????
i found that you can walk on the side of cars if u stand on top of a car the driver goes psycho and the car suddenly sets on fire!! stand on top of a cop car and you suddenly get arrested and if you get killed or busted many many times your cash goes either to minus figures or NoN this game is pure lol
i pridect that dead rising will come out on aug 5

I think he means the vid sucks because it really doesn't tell you anything, it doesn't say which street to use to get through, it doesn't tell you where the AK is, etc. It's crap

i was up all night waiting for the demo and ive been playing it allday yesyterday and a bit earlyer today, i downloaded it like 11:00am so ive completed ti and have been trying to find a way out of the demo wall, i tested the thing about the trucks knocking you through, which it worled but asoon as i went to walk my game messed up and it teleported me mack to the position you spayn at if you get stuck:S maybe comebody could make a vid of a perfect path through the wall withought getting warped back?
i've made it to the ak-47.
it does work just takes some practice and a lil luck.

I think this game kicks ass and just may give GTA a run for its money. Good GFX and solid gameplay=great title.
They really should fix the control system for driving and aiming the gun. Its impossible to do. Plus the cars handle like big square boxes with little castors.
Mission wise the game isnt too bad. If you think it will give GTA a run for its money, wait till GTA IV in October 2007 (Yes i know its along way away.)
I don't really like this. Graphics would look at home on the PS2, physics of the game are unrealistic (i mean since when, if you ran someone over, would they shoot 50 feet in the air in slow motion?), and it has nothing i haven't seen on any of the GTA games. The main thing about this will be the multiplayer.
Doesn't cut the mustard in my book. The whole gangsta bit is tired. Street gangs? That's just yesterday. Now when a game comes out that has prison gangs, that'll be dope.
This has a rushed feel to it.
By far the easiest way to pass through the barrier is to get in any vehicle and park it parallel to the barrier. You should be about 2-3 feet away. Then double tap Y and you'll jump out of the car right through it. If your too far away you won't go through and if your'e too close you'll get out the other side of the car. Try stealing an Ant or something else small like a Halbred and go the train station. You can get the car up the steps next to the demo wall and if your'e good enough with the handbrake get it sideways and do the above trick. Now you can go up the stairs to train platform and get on the tracks. Its all closed up around you and you can't get out but if you brought pipe bombs with you you'll have some fun derailing the train. Oh, you can get inside the train cars if you blow the doors off.
hey, for some real fun, grab the fastest car you can find, floor it and when you feel your at max-speed, hit someone head-on and you can have the (and sometimes yourself) fly THROUGH the windshield!
this game isn't as bad as some people say. PS2 graphics? Are they playing on HD televisions? And if you do like this game then you are open minded and that is what we need more of is open minded gamers i am tired of hearing (ps2 graphics) thats such crap. I think this game is going to be awsome on and off line. Hopefully dead rising and madden 07 will be good to and this will be one hell of a month for the xbox 360. Rock on open minded gamers.
These type of games never been great in the graphics ddepartment. Grand theft Auto games are the ugliest games ever. Besides the graphics are good for this game. Its no GOW, but hey at least it looks a lot better then any of the game that came out at launch.

i played the demo and itz cool! the only thing i didnt like waz the car handling and the waste of gettin high. i mean if you`re gonna drink dont just take one sip and smash the bottle! i wanted to be able to drink a little longer and maybe smash the bottle on ah old ladiez head or somethin! well maybe on saints row 2!
