Jacob Metcalf, known for being the first to tell everyone about Bungie Studios leaving Microsoft, shared his own findings about the rumored motion-sensing controller for the Xbox 360 said to be called "Newton." Metcalf reportedly confirmed details known about the mysterious controller, and claimed that it will share the same patented technology Nintendo employed for its Wii Remote.
According to Metcalf, Microsoft will use motion-sensing technology owned by the company Gyration which also gave Nintendo a hand. He was quoted saying:
Legally Microsoft is not ripping off Nintendo but rather licensing the technology from the same place that Nintendo got it. For an example the Guitar Hero and Rock Band controllers both use the same patent that is owned by Konami that they developed for Guitar Freaks.
