Rumor: Xbox Live has gone free |

We got a very interesting email from tipster Daniel Muir claiming that he was able to access the Xbox Live Gold features with his Silver account. Now, as far as we know, Microsoft has not made XBL a free service. Or have they?According to Daniel, he was able to join in a game of Saints Row 2 online using his Silver account when it should have been limited only to Gold users. Thinking that it was probably just luck, he then tried it out with FIFA 09, and again, it worked.
Doing a bit more sleuthing, he then found out that other folks are indeed having similar experiences with the XBL. Some are positing at the UK GameSpot Forums that it could just be the Free Live Weekend promo, while some are saying that it could work only for those games that are multiplatformers.
Well since we're not hearing anything official from Microsoft, we'll just have to take this with a grain of salt. Or you guys can try again tomorrow, and if you still get free access to Gold, then it's probably not just the Free Live Weekend thing.

They may allow silver members to play online, however, i do think that since there are so many people who currently pays for Gold, they will probably get extra things like. Netflix Hd and so on. O_o
what about us people that pay, i kind of feel like this isn't right. It is only 50 dollars but still. If i can get it for free then i most definitely would.

The consoles we have at work break so often that each time I send one I get it back with 1 month of xbox live, which I use on my account. LOL

I did not got two 12 months of live cause the I have a year free from wend i transfer from the old xbox live account and sent then I have being free.
