Rumor has it that the original Prince of Persia Classic (yes, the one from 1989) is going to be released on Microsoft's Xbox 360 via the XBLA. This nit of news comes from the USK, if the rumor holds true, it may just be a European release.The original Prince of Persia or Prince of Persia Classic is considered one of the most influential platformers in this century, right up there with Mario. The player basically starts out with no weapon and no means to defend himself, and all one could depend on to keep from falling into spikes and avoiding other traps, was one's reflexes as you traverse the different areas of the game.
Eventually, you will be able to find a sword and finally be able to take on some of the goons whom you may have gotten used to running away from. Like all the classic games, there is a princess to save at the end. Doesn't the nostalgia bring a tear to your eye?
If the rumor is confirmed, then the game will be a great addition to the collection of classic games in the Xbox live arcade. Like all the others who have heard the news, we are very excited at the prospect of once again playing the original Prince of Persia. More on this as it develops.
