Alan Wake from Remedy Entertainment - Image 1

A rumor has been circulating the threads of the World Wide Web that a highly anticipated first-party Microsoft title will be canceled; a concerned gamer asked if it was Alan Wake in the forums of the game's site. A moderator quickly assured him that it's definitely not Alan Wake (for the simple fact that Alan Wake isn't a Microsoft first-party title), and furthermore, even mentioned that it won't appear on the PlayStation 3.

The rumor of a canceled MS title began when a podcast from 1up pretty much said as much, and further added that a high up exec will be leaving Microsoft soon. And that's it folks: if the rumor of a first party title being canceled indeed proves true, be assured that it's not Alan Wake (Xbox 360, PC).

» corrected

yep I stand corrected.

quote from NG4.com:

""Microsoft Game Studios does not own the copyright nor the IP to Alan Wake. Therefore, Alan Wake is NOT a first party title for Microsoft."

The forum moderator adds:

"Remedy is acting as a third party developer for Microsoft Game Studios. MGS provides outsourcing and development resources for the game, but has no development power over the title.""
