Rumor: Best Buy dumps Xbox 360 Core? |

Is Best Buy ditching the Xbox 360 Core model? We've picked up this rumor from Joystiq that allegedly claims the retailer to be dropping future shipments of the unit into their stocks.
The image you see above is supposedly the stocks list of the store, and as you will see with the circle markings on them (depending on how clear your eyesight is), underneath the model description is the status described as "Deleted". Ominously, this means that there won't be any more new stocks coming in through the doors of Best Buy.
Microsoft had already released a statement about this last July 16, stating that: "... Xbox 360 Core remains an important member of the Xbox 360 family." Not exactly a direct answer, is it? Joystiq contacted them again in light of this more recent evidence, and Microsoft replied, "Nothing's changed since last week."

Face it Xbox core is going bye bye. I know a friend at Best buy and he told me yesterday that the core really sucks compared to the premium and that getting rid of it would help. But i asked what about the rest of the systems. He said well we will have them but don't expect them to sell due to its high defected rate i was laughing.
The fact is they are getting rid of it now that PS3 is getting good games and $100 oh and by the way Sony actually lost money but gain profit off there system what about yours.

Want to see what the 360 can do graphically, forget Forza or PS3 Grand tourismo etc take a look at Moto GP 07 on extreme mode the graphics are incredible.
Lets not forget Sony PS3 have already dropped 2 of their systems in the first year....

The new SKU will likely have a built in HD-DVD drive as its main selling point and to 1UP Sony. MS has always been opened to such a unit, they have just been waiting for the right time. They can't deny the success of Sony's console helping in Blu-ray sales, either.
There are more standalone HD-DVD players than Blu-ray players (not including the PS3) yet Blu-ray is outselling HD-DVD 5:1? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the extra sales are coming from the 4 million PS3 users (you know at least 1 Blu-ray movie was bought by each PS3 owner).
Either that or it could be the IPTV 360 unit that MS/DirectTV will be offering as their main unit for the new service. Guess we will have to wait and see.
