Rumor: 20,000 American Xbox consoles shipped to UK by mistake |
Ó
An employee of GAME, one of the UK's largest game retailers, claimed that as much as 20,000 Xbox 360 Premiums meant for America has been shipped to the UK. According to his post in the Neowin forums, a customer who bought an Xbox 360 returned the console because the American cord was incompatible with the UK plugs. The employee is from Scotland and is only known from his avatar named King Antonius. Antonius phoned other branches and eventually the head office and was informed about the mistaken shipment. It's not exactly a reliable source so we'll have to wait until Microsoft can comment, deny or confirm the mistake. But true or not, it won't hurt to ask to see the cord before readers from the UK decide to hand over the cash.

The latest stock in at Argos here all have the American plugs on them, Microsoft told em to just call a Helpline number but customers are just advised to buy a Converter plug from the store when they get a 360.
My uncle bought a 360 today, got it home, unpacked it all, and it had a two pin plug on it. Took it back to GAME, the guy said its the second time they have had a batch of (he said) french consoles sent in.
We had to stand and wait half an hour for him to open about 10 consoles, before he found a uk model.
M$ is f. u. c. k.i.n.g up!
why is this on QJ? Who cares if someone made a mistake, if you've never made a mistake you can criticize microsoft, until then STFU, and i'd rather have stuff involving games be on QJ I dont give a care about someone's dumb mistake.
SO WHAT QJ
Guys, of course this is news and it's valuable news at that. What if you were going to go out and get another xbox? Wouldn't you want to ask the store guy to check it's a UK machine before you walk out the door?
thats why you can return the 360 and make them give you a new one, that has a UK plug, and the store would know if they had American plug consoles because they'd get so many returned, so they'd probably tell you.
There was no more news on Halo3.
PATHETIC JUST PATHETIC, a RUMOR that 20 thousand 360s have been sent to the UK instead of the USA SO WHAT?.
Even if it is true What shop is not going to be told to check their Batch number on their shipment of 360s and MS will send them the right place ?.
This happens in all goods no matter what they are from time to time and if you get sold One then it is plainly obvious you can take it straight back for a replacement though I have no doubt that if this RUMOR were true MS would of informed all the suppliers which batch they were anyway so none would be sold in the UK anyway......
LMAO so he opened 10 360s to find a PAL one right ?, so Argos didnt know the difference between what is written on the 360 box I.E PAL or NTSC right?. RUBBISH every box has where it is made for and MS would certainly have informed a big company like Argos if this were true.
What you mean they can do worse than $ony in that department?, I dont think so..

I was standing in GAME (like i mentioned in my post) while the guy opened all the boxes.
What version of the 360 do the french, which i actually what the game guy told me, use ? I did a quick search, and from what i can see, there isnt a "secam" 360, so the console would have still had PAL on the box.
I love when people quote, or reply to a post, and dont actually read it, and make themselves look complete isiots ......
