Risky business: play Xbox Live between two consoles with only one disc |
Ó
Some guys from DigiEx found a very unorthodox use for NXE's ability to
play games from the HDD.They found that you can play Xbox Live over two consoles with just one disc. It's a pretty risky procedure, but if you're so cheap that you'd risk bricking your console instead of buying another game (paradoxical as that is), then go for it.
Remember now, this procedure is risky for both the console and the disc. You have no one to blame but yourself if things go awry.
What you need to do is install the game in the first console, launch the game and wait for the DVD drive to spin down. Once it does, use a paper clip to emergency eject the DVD tray. If (yes, it's an if; this procedure doesn't work for everyone) your console doesn't detect that the disc was ejected, take the disc out and use it on the other console.
You can probably tell it's not worth the risk by these barebone instructions alone. If your cheapskate blood runs deep though, I advise you go to the source link and read the fully fleshed out instructions there.

I don't own a 360 but I know that in PCs the system doesn't detect the emergency eject of the disc. I don't see how this will brick your console though, just a risk of damaging the disk, nothing else since the drive resets itself after a reboot of the console.
you got a brother/sister with an other 360 that wants to play at the same time as you suppose the thing it is useful for is LAN partys
If these people are cheap enough... Course they are, if they bought the 360 lol!
Hahahaha so funny...not. I got a Ps3/Xbox360 and i still prefer to use my xbox O_o. Gamertag: LegionCortador PSN: LegionCortador
didnt work for me. benq drive.
There is absolutely no reason why your 360 would brick because of this. Even the disc shouldn't be in any danger, if it's not spinning anymore.
"Not"... about time you left the 1990's mate. Anyway, how super for you. Well done.
2 boxes and someone wants to play same game as me - ok let me put it this way then; if ( xbox1Game.isOnePlayer()){ xbox2.connectToBox(xbox1); xbox2.connectMonitor(LCDHD); xbox2.loadnetwork(IP); catch( Exception ex) throw new ex = RedRingOfDead(); } else { xbox2.Shutdown(); xbox1,connectSecondController(); xbox1.loadGame(GOWII); catch (Exception ex1) Throw Ex1 = ChangeConsoleException(); } forum.flame.Start();
Kinda reminds me of the old ps2 swap trick but since it uses an official disc instead of a backup, it operates differently.
I know theirs holes for computers to eject with paper clip but how the heck you can do this on the 360 Remove Faceplate?
